I kind of posted this already in another forum, but it was kind of hidden and no-one helped.
I'm hoping here I can get some genuine support.
My problem is my windows. I have about 10 programs or so that load with windows in startup (by checking run > msconfig)
I'm running on Windows XP Professional SP2. If you look at my rig you can tell that it's not all that normal to have a 10 minute boot time.
At first I guessed that my HDD where my OS is on wasn't working properly, but alot of people seemed to think it's a user error/issue, whatever that means.
This happens all the time. I've formatted many many times and installed fresh windows.
Within a few months windows always becomes as sluggish as it is now.
I do constant spyware & virus scans with AdAware Pro, Spyboy S&D and Norton AV 2005.
I also update my definitions for spyware & viruses.
Can someone help me?

p.s. the part where windows loads (the bar moving across the screen) stays for about 5 or 10 seconds. The real problem is after that. It's close to 5 or 8 minutes where I see the blue screen windows is loading your settings, and then my desktop will show but icons and windows bar won't load for another few minutes. Then my icons load but it's another few minutes before I can actually do anything and my PC responds to my commands (opening programs, folders, etc)
