No, your state will reimburse you. Not unlike the tax refund you get after your filing for overpaying on taxes throughout the previous year.

Don't you want to buy them all at once, to eliminate the chance of getting the same numbers the next time you buy. I know it's a small chance, but it's the same odds as winning

It's greater than the odds of winning. When you buy the 3rd ticket - it now has to avoid matching 2 other sets of numbers. When you buy the 4th, it now has to avoid 3 sets.

When you start reaching the hundreds, the odds are a lot better for the reason listed above.

Ok I did some research on Google and it appears that you need to file a non-resident state return in Minn to get your money back that they will withhold incorrectly:

Totally worth it.

Of course I'd rather win the jackpot but $5,500 per $10 ain't too shabby either.

That's about $15k for my 3 shares, pay down some debt and go on a nice vacation with the Mrs.
