Up here in Canada, I have yet to see a dirty or smelly WalMart. All the stores that I have gone to are relatively clean (I haven't seen a K-Mart here in years). I've bought the occasional DVD and was quite happy. One thing that I can complain about is that one of the stores near my home (there are about 2-3 stores in this city of 600K)
about a week ago, their electronics dept was a mess. A friend wanted to buy a TV and a DVD player and their selection was pitiful. The clerk we spoke to said they were pretty much sold out of everything (he was courteous enough to say that if we liked a particular item, he would call around to other stores and see if they had one). They had about 10 different DVD players on display (with no backup) half were made by manufactuers I had never heard of. They did have the Apex 1500 in stock but thats about it.
