YourMusic.com offers a decent selection of CDs at only $5.99. It is a service offered by BMG. Boxed sets are also $5.99 per CD.

There are no long-term contracts or obligations except that you buy at least one CD per month as long as you are a member. However, you can quit right after placing your first order. You are not obligated to stay for any period of time. This deal has been posted on other boards and some folks were able to get a $4.99/CD deal.

I just received my first two shipments (9 days after I placed my order). A brand new 3CD Scorpions boxed set that sells for $38 was only $17.97. It did not have any BMG markings. The Enigma greatest hits CD did have a BMG item number below the barcode.

Not all CDs in the catalog are actually in stock and the selection is not unlimited, but if you do have a few must have CDs in mind, give them a try.

I've been using this for a couple months, and my subscription is for $4.99 CDs. They ship reasonably fast--not lightning quick, but not too slow. Shipping is free, after all.
Their selection is pretty good, all things considered.

This looks like a good way to get box sets, from what I've read. IIRC, the regular BMG club has cut down on the ways you can apply free selections to box sets, yourmusic.com seems like it would be a cheaper option. BTW, the few music-club box sets I've bought have never had club markings, I don't think they actually manufacture them, unlike their other CD's.

For individual CD's, bmgmusic can still easily beat $4.99 if you do it correctly (i.e. minimum purchase, fulfill with buy 1 get 2 or 3 free). But you can't get all your CD's in one shot like you probably can with yourmusic.

yeah, I notice that the CD/DVD sets (and certain 2-cd sets) seem to be priced as a single selection at yourmusic. bmgmusic will charge those as a double selection.

Advantage: yourmusic :thumbsup:

Good deal for the cd's they actually have, but they don't seem to stock most new cd's and some others I looked for. Still, a good deal and I will consider joining.

Good question. I don't think it does. From what I read on other forums, you find out that your selection is out of stock when they actually attempt to fulfill your order.

The good thing is, you do not get charged $5.99 that month if it was the only CD in your queue. The bad thing, you don't get what you want at the price you want.

I'm not sure what you wanted, but a cursory search shows that they have an excellent selection. Most, if not all, of Neil Young (and with Crazy Horse), Jefferson Airplane (the newer remastered versions as a plus), James Taylor, the Band, etc. and off the beaten path stuff as three Kasey Chambers albums, a Richard Thompson compilation and so on. They even have Bob Dylan's Biograph (3 CD collection) for $17.98.

Definately worth checking out this site. I especially like that they don't have the ripoff shipping & handling prices the other clubs have. The only thing I don't like is that most album listings don't have track listings-but a visit to allmusic.com will take care of that.
