Some have, but the republican party owns the most racists.
So says you. Again, brilliant logic.
Some have, but the republican party owns the most racists.
Read what was typed. The words that were actually used. How can people of the past makeup anything today?
Let me put it another way. THESE AREN'T THE SAME PEOPLE.
Your argument is that he thinks dead people make up the Democrats today? I really hope you don't believe that, because I do like some of your posts.
The meaning the he meant to convey was that groups that historically made up democrats today make up the republican party. You can try to use semantics to argue that his words could mean something else, but I took it to read the way that he likely meant it.
Ill give you an example. You asked how can people make up anything today?
Are you asking how people in the past could lie aka make things up today?
Are you asking how people of the past could put make up on things today?
Are you asking how be apart of groups today?
I'm going to assume you mean the last one. The answer is pretty simple. Say they were in a war that was in the past, so that today they would make up a group called veterans. If you really want to get pedantic about what he said, then it could easily be turned around onto you.
So says you. Again, brilliant logic.
Actually, he is right. Southerners, which is a geographic group of people, used to vote democrat and now vote republican. So he is correct when he says those who were democrat are now republican. If you were to break down the party ideas, then those in the past would better be labeled as republicans today.
The south flipped because of racism and racism alone.
Prove me wrong and I'll admit my error. My logic may be flawed, but the end result is true, republicans now "own" the most racists.
You made the claim, you back it up. Do your own homework. In doing so you might learn something, like homework usually does. I'm not holding my breath.
See: Trump.
Brilliant logic continues. One person says something dumb = republicans own the most racists.
He's in second place in the republican polls, correct? That means a large part of the party polled agrees with him, there's even a thread here where some repubs are agreeing with him.
Riiiiight. I have no idea but now polls = reality? Again, more brilliant logic.
As to your edit. So if they agree with him it means they agree with absolutely everything he says. The brilliant logic continues.
I don't see anything from you refuting my claim.
No, his argument, which he clarified is that people today are the same as people of yesterday (same mentality, not the same people literally), except when they aren't. It's idiotic.
The party favored republicanism, a weak federal government, states' rights, agrarian interests (especially Southern planters) and strict adherence to the Constitution; it opposed a national bank, close ties to Great Britain, and business and banking interests.
Actually the racism in both parties is relatively equal. Some have, but the republican party owns the most racists.
Actually the racism in both parties is relatively equal.
The difference is relatively small and not nearly as much as some would have you believe. IMO it's patently ridiculous to pound ones chest over how less racist Democrats are when sentiment tracks so closely and there's only a couple percentage points difference between them and Republicans. The poll also doesn't address reverse racism within each party which would be instructive as well.I have met many democrats who decry racism, and then are racists. The best line I have ever heard came from high school.
"Black people cannot be racist, because you have to hate black people to be racist"
Some of the most racist people I have ever met were minorities.
I should point out though that from your graphs, it looks like democrats are splitting and arching toward the right side of history.

But to your point...I believe both parties are arching toward the right side of history.
Whatever...the operative word is "little" which is my point. To be fair though, your charts only reflect racist views about blacks in only a few ways. There is far more to racism than beliefs about blacks. But I take your point that both parties have a lot of racist views. I would contend that democrats are getting on the right side a little faster though.
And of course decedents don't change from their predecessors (republicans) except when they do (democrats).
Like Doc said, brilliant logic.
Because you are just writing one liners that still do not mean anything.Of course you don't.
