A Bug's Life > Toy Story > The Incredibles > Wall-E > Ratatouille > Finding Nemo > Up > Monsters Inc. > Cars

IMO, of course. Also, I have yet to see Up more than once, so the rankings may change.

And ranking Pixar movies is admittedly fruitless because they're all awesome. I try to avoid only Cars because it's my son's favorite and it gets grating after a while.

It was not a miscarriage, she was infertile (the first Disney character to be so).

It was a miscarriage. You only decorate a nursery when you are expecting a baby, not trying for one. Not really the point. Expected something else. My bad assuming it was going to be more enjoyable for small children.

A little research goes a long way.
Do you think a doctor reveals a miscarriage while sitting in an office?
Pixar Wikia (DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS!!!!)

It looked much more like a miscarriage to me. Since they were decorating a baby room one would assume that she was already pregnant.

It was a great movie until the near end when he meets the old guy. Then it went downhill fast.

Sorry you can't explain things to your kids.

"cant have kids"

"she was sick"

pretty easy to me. but, i explained most everything to my kids while they were that age. not many subjects (that they came up with) were taboo from explanations.

i took my kids to see it as well, but they were all over 12 at that point. we all loved the movie, and "SQUIRREL!!" still gets randomly yelled out.

Miscarriage never occurred to me. When they were decorating the nursery it only implied to me that they were planning for children. I think I am used to the idea that most older cartoons and kids movies usually avoided the whole "pregnancy? Baby comes from where?" stage and goes right from the "build nursery in wishful thinking" to "babby is formed".

But the thing that separates it from a miscarriage is that they never had a kid. While an emotionally trying event I'm sure, I would not have expected a single miscarriage to stop them from trying to have children again.

Haven't seen it but I find it hard to imagine it being better than Wall-E. That movie stunned me like few others. If this one really is better, it ought to be truly incredible. But why did it have such a crappy trailer? It really did nothing to pique my interest in it.

that first few minutes made me think about my daughter and it got to me. I was strong for my wife and family for so long, but that just got me.

Was it the only PIXAR movie where people died?

And yes, UP made me cry.

Because I read this story before going to see the movie.

They seem to be able to take concepts that should work as a movie (A rat is a chef, an old man and an asian boy scout buddy movie, a robot movie with no dialogue for 30 minutes, etc..) and turn them into masterpieces.

Err, the kid was asian?

I didn't like Up at all. But I did like The Incredibles, Wall-E and Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs (not too thrilled about those last two though either.)

Yup, he is the first Japanese/Asian-American character voiced by an Asian-American actor (Jordan Nagai).

Sums up my opinion quite nicely. I almost cried in the first 10 minutes. Hitting a bit too close to home...

Planning on buying the Blu-Ray.

Sorry you can't explain things to your kids.

His kids are 5 and 3. explaining fertility to them would be akin to explaining quantum physics to them. They just aren't going to understand that. Then you run into the endless replies of WHY.
WHY.
WHY.

My daughter is 3 and I just told her that the lady couldn't have babies. No further explanation needed.
I didn't have to explain her death, she just said "She was old and she died. That is sad." I agreed.
