I already recieved my switch, it's working and I have no complain with it. The size is very small, it's as small as a palm pilot. The color of the switch's image on the website is slightly different. The looks are the same, but the color is pure lite-gray. There's no specific uplink port, so you can just plug into any port and it will automatic detects it.

I got this from buy.com for 3$ AR a few months ago. Good switch, and the rebate came within the alloted 8 weeks as I remember.

I would recommend this if you are in need of a switch.

I grab these every time Microcenter does a sale. Cheap, small, good strong construction. I've had one fail on me, so keep the receipt, but a 5 or 10 bucks they can't be beat.

Well I went for the 8 port deal from pcclub. My wife emails me today to tell me something from pcclub arrived so I get home and open the box to find a Smartlink 56k PCI modem. The invoice inside the package shows it should be the gigafast 8 port switch but apparently someone there couldn't tell the difference between a modem and a switch. ::sigh::

Somewhere there's probably someone expecting a modem and is getting my 8 port switch. They're really going to wonder what's going on when they try to figure out which of the ports the phone line is supposed to go in.

Oh well time to see how well they're customer support is.

I received my rebate for the 5-port I ordered 2 months ago last week.
More prompt than most rebates I submit...
