Interested to know where you found those reviews at because of the 54 reviews on Newegg 93% of them are 4 or 5 eggs, excellent imho. I purchased one based on the reviews there, so if you didn't buy one based on the same reviews i find that odd. I haven't been able to find any other vendor in the US that has this Brand/Model TV. The 54 reviews are all since black friday as the tv had no reviews prior.

There are more than 31 levels of quality and for you that will be the number of review stars. And most of those review stars refer mostly to the fact the TV set is "Cheap" price wise and nothing else. When it comes to picture quality, only a handful mentioned it at the level of acceptable while most refer to it as a "con". There is a reason why this TV is being given "FREE" when buying a a thousand dollar laptop, and it is not because it is a high quality TV but instead the other way. But then this is America where each and everyone has the liberty to call a product quality or not.

i just got mine today ($449 deal with 7" tablet, and video dongle whatever). looks pretty good to me, but i'm not a videophile. just watched on-air tv and a dvd from about 15feet away.

Well I got mine today and I'm impressed so far. Sounds is decent or as to be expected, picture looks great to me, I actually like the look and size of the remote. The very thin bezel makes it attractive as well... WELL WORTH THE MONEY IMHO! Picture is as good as my Vizio 60" and Samsung 47" sets. Welcome Changhong to the US market... This is not a cheap company, I think maybe they just have lower costs then most. Most televisions we are familiar with are Korean or Japanese and these places are not known for making cheap or low quality products. Truth is they design them and usually end up having them made in China anyway because its much cheaper. This company cuts out the middleman so to speak and designs and builds the sets there and can apparently produce them much cheaper then other companies. They have many higher end sets they make as well... Anyway I'm very happy.

Changhong is another OEM manufacture in China competing with Hisense and exports TV's all over the planet under different brandings. If you can live with the pic quality then why not. If you get some decent longevity out of the set. Then you got yourself a bargain. If the set dies in a couple of years. Then you got what you paid for.
