50 Free albums from Xbox Music

What the hell MS? It suddenly went from 100 to 50 in the time it took me to install the software and update it and half the albums I wanted are now gone.

Edit: Bizarre, I searched for 2 of the albums that are no longer listed in the 50 and it said they are still free.

Yeah, the "Music Deals" app seems to have caught a case of the stupids.... Apparently not all the box sets are listed, either.

they must be getting hammered. half the time the music deals won't open. response time from the music app is also super slow.

Also, most of the albums in the above list aren't free. Not one of the ones I checked that wasn't in the music deals app showed as free.

Did you search the Music app for Dire Straits - Remastered? It might still be free. The Music Deals app no longer shows all of the free titles or $2 collections.

Wow! Even a lot of the stuff labeled free is no longer downloading, I can queue it up but then the songs will error out with the message that they are no longer available. Ah well, good find for those that got in early.

I think it was just a compilation CD. It was one of the free items, but it was removed later.

Dire Straits (Remastered) was listed as one of the free albums. I caught this too late to even check (I saw it in the list posted, but not on the site), but that's the name of their first album (well, they didn't add "(Remastered)" themselves ). I think the one you're after is Brothers in Arms, which is nothing but amazing songs, start to finish, including, "Walk of Life."

Now, my question is this: Where does the app save these albums? Says it goes to the "cloud" but what cloud?
It isn't on One Drive.

Should be listed in the music app. Go to collections and it will list everything.

I actually found where to locate the albums.

You open up the Windows 8 music app. Not the music deals app. In the music app, click on "collection" and all your albums are available there.

I didn't know that what you wanted to know. What I haven't done yet is try to access the collection from the xbox cloud from another device. i don't have another win8 computer to check.

There is an android app for xbox music, but they make you sign up for the 30 xbox music trial to get access. That's crazy.

I had mine dl to my external drive to save space on my SSD. The location path is L:\downloads\music\Xbox Music\Purchases. It might be similar on your guys setup.

Yeah my windows installation was set to look for my music at a certain location where I already kept my MP3 collection.

After I got the albums, windows automatically created the Xbox Music\Purchases folder inside my MP3 collection directory, and just dumped all the MP3 in there.

I was able to DL about a dozen albums since 11/28, but after that nothing.......I get to the part where you click "Geit it Now" (something like that), sign in with my Microsoft password, and nothing happens......rebooted, rinsed, repeated.......same result.
Some of the classic rock albums I wanted aren't available anymore (after they reduced it to 50).....I guess I shouldn't complain as these were all free, but I just don't like it when they pull the rug from down under......
