I have paid around $38 for a haircut on a few occasions. They did a good job, but I didn't feel it was necessarily worth the money. I've gone to SuperCuts or whatever those places are called and they do just as good of a job, IMO. I don't do anything crazy with my hair, though. Meaning, no product.

I got an amazing haircut for like 12 bucks at a black barbershop once. I had a feeling it might have been a black barbershop, but went in anyways. Sure enough. I had to make a decision, turn around and leave or keep going. I needed a haircut so I kept going.
The barber's name was "Face". He took about 45 mins on my hair, so long that I was late coming back from lunch. The other barber said "nice cut, Face" as he went around the back of my head with the clippers, making a really clean line.

I think he just wanted practice cutting a white person's hair. I never got to go back since I took a new job not soon after that. Everyone at my office laughed at my story but all admitted my hair looked great.

$21 with tip and I bang one of the chicks who cut my hair... good times.

(No I don't get the hair cut free because I don't want any favors at her work since she'll get in trouble and we aren't that close where she can come over and cut it.)

ok.

I change hairstyles a lot. For longer styles a barber can really fuck it up then not only does it take time to grow out...it takes usually a few cuts to get it back.

Now am high and tight again. Seriously I could probably get a haircut for $10 (I tip $5 for a cut usually at a minimum) and 9 times out of 10 would pass most people's visual likes.

I usually choose a barber who then gets fucked by the staff working with her.

I had a great Korean barber at a SuperCuts, however; anytime I called ahead they always gave me shit about how busy they are, how they don't take appointments, etc.

Now I am going to Sport Clips, which I thought would be dudes...fucking welfare fucks have been bringing their kids in there for full monty towel deals.

They said they are trying to work on it. I may end up going postal one day.

I will give them a few more cuts.

usually I have a 15-20 dollar haircut before tips; my most expensive is at a local salon for $30 (it's an excellent haircut/hair styling place that iirc won award).

I paid $35 for a set of clippers and buzz my head every 2 weeks. Beats the hell out of wasting an hour to pay $15+tip for a haircut

You're either kidding, or wasting your life, either way you're a pathetic excuse.

$9 at the base barber-shop. Otherwise ~$14 at Supercuts.

1/2" to 3/4" off the top, cut the bangs and sideburns, tapered on the sides and back. Every month to month and a half.

Wife does it, and does a good job.
It's pretty rare to hear of someone getting a bad haircut in a barbershop or salon in NY.

New York: You need a state license to cut hair, but don't need a license to be an electrician.
