at $80 it comes out to $1.60 per disc, which isn't bad at all.

You could also get 75 discs and use $30 off $150 coupon and get same results.

I usually just wait until a time that I don't think I use the computer to burn my DVDs so that's ok. I would preffer a faster disk but at this price I don't think it's worth it.

These same discs are available this week at Office Depot for $77.94 as are the Memorex +R and Phillips 4X +R 50 pack spindles. You can find a coupon for $15 off $50 or $20 off $75 and get them for $57.94 plus tax. Deal may be available insore only. Buy online and select instore pickup so you can use the coupon. Or you can buy 25 Pack Memorex at Best Buy for $30. Far better deals than currently at Staples.

too bad they're all +R.. I saw the memorex in the BB flyer but I was hoping for -R -> seen those for $30?

Best Buy apparently doesn't have the -R's on sale but the 50 pack a t Office Depot is either +R or -R, both in 4X.

No. A recent CDRInfo.com compatibility test showed that DVD-R is 96.7% compatible and +R is 87.3% compatible.

OK so $60 (2 25 packs= 50) at Best Buy is better than $57.94 (1 50 pack) at Office Depot. Actually the OD deal is only slightly less after paying the taxes on the higher price before the $20 coupon. It's all that jumping through hoops that you have to do to get the deal at OD. But Office Depot has the Memorex 4X -R's on sale and Best Buy doesn't. So it looks like Office Depot has the better deal. BTW they taught that 2 times stuff back in the second grade.

As stated, this was done with european dvd players and not USA players. The numbers are not scientific.

Does anyone know who manufactures the Memorex 4X DVD-Rs? I know that CMC was making most of the Memorex 2X DVD-Rs and they weren't as reliable as some of the other available blanks. It looks like Memorex has let Ricoh produce their new 4X DVD+Rs and it would be great if they were using the same supplier for DVD-R media.

Would somebody that has picked up a pack of 4X Memorex DVD-Rs mind running DVDInfo on one of the blanks and posting the info to this thread?

I checked that thread out and still haven't seen a definitive answer. It looks like it is confirmed that Richoh is making the Memorex DVD+R media but nobody has posted about the maker of the Memorex DVD-R media. It is speculated that CMC is making the DVD-R media and that is nowhere near a good a deal as the Ricoh made DVD+R

I'm still going to hold out until somebody picks up a 50 pack of the Memorex 4X DVD-Rs from Office Depot and checks them out. It's possible that Memorex is using different suppliers, but who know as of right now. I'll probably go get a pack this Friday and check them out. If they are CMC, I'll just return them.

I'm sorry I didn't realize this was for -R. The +R are Ricoh's
