Actually, EB was overflowing with preowned games and had to reduce inventory somewhat.
The store I work at, in Springfield OH (Small city, small store), had so many preowned PS and PS2 games that we filled up all of our storage space under the counter and had to start storing games in the back room.
For a while (And currently, for that matter), we have had a promotion going on where you could trade a previous-gen gaming system (Dreamcast, N64, Playstation) with 10 games, instructions and so forth towards a $100 credit off of a new Xbox, PS2, or GameCube. Now I know some of you will argue the merits of this deal, but most people ate it up like nobody's business. In no time, we went from having no preowned Dreamcasts to having a dozen. And of course, since it was 10 games to one system, we were looking at an extra 100+ games.
Sorry for the long story; short story is that EB is not getting out of the preowned game business.
