cremefilled I appreciate all your advice and heads up about this deal. You know quite a bit about Bodybuilding. You must have been around since the old Muscle Media *2000* days like I was, when it was actually cool and good to read, and with Dan Duchaine (rest his brilliant soul). I couldn't agree more with you on many of the advice. Except one:

I can't find ANY of the products you mentioned on this bloody site I don't know if they're now out of stock or what, but it seems that all your deals are now gone or not really there

I looked and looked for the exact deals you mentioned, but they're all different now. What happened??

BTW, you know about proteinfactory.com right? They're pretty good.

Thanks again cremefilled.

Yup, just about everything good seems to be gone from the site. My guess? The infamous "Anandtech effect." When I posted in late September, their "Sports Nutrition--other powders" product listing took up 9 pages. Now there are only 11 products (1.1 pgs).

I'm still waiting on a Sept. 27 order. I did receive an order that I placed on Sept. 24 last week.

MetRX and the HDT MRP's are still good deals. The HDT MRP's are supposed to have a good taste.

Btw, there is a new coupon available at dealcatcher.com for 50% off that is good until Nov. 6. But be prepared for a long wait for your order to arrive.

P.S.--yes, Proteinfactory is good. Their prices on bulk whey protein and casein are excellent. Remember that casein has less filler material, so you are getting more protein grams per unit weight. And yes, I was an MM2K fan "back in the day." I've still got a lifetime subscription to the cursed thing.

I'd recommend that anyone thinking of ordering wait until some of us that ordered last month receive our orders. I'll report back when I do.

i ordered some stuff that differs from you guys and hopefully it'll come soon. ENSURE is a REAL good meal supplement. people tend to thikn it's for old people but at 250-300 calories per can and all them vitamins, you can drink it with a meal or add it in wen making a shake with the protein supplements. plus with the 50% off coupon, this makes it the cheapeast place to get ENSURE!!!

You could do that, or you could just use a real meal replacement that doesn`t suck (not Ensure!) and add some flax seed oil for extra calories.

Hoeboy, not to jump on your post (& I'm glad you found the coupon useful), but as for "all them vitamins," just take a Centrum for about $0.05 (or less, with the 1/2 off sale). This gives you even better nutritional coverage. Ensure has cheap ingredients and a lot of sugar. You also pay for a huge marketing campaign and for the cost of shipping it premixed in individual cans. Not to dissuade you--it's not really bad for you, so if you enjoy it, go ahead.

I don't like the taste of flax seed oil (just blah, not terrible), but taking some is a good idea, and I try to get 1/2 to 1 Tbsp. every day. I gulp it down before starting on a protein shake--which completely washes it down. Actually, I buy the cheapest flax seed oil (OmegaFlo, I think) at the health store, and I know that the more expensive ones taste better.

In case someone is wondering, the point behind taking flax oil is that it is the highest concentration source of Omega-3 fatty acids. This is "what makes fish oil good for you." There are 2 types of essential fatty acids (i.e., you'll die without getting them in your diet!), with Omega-6 being the other. O-6 is easy to find in nearly any processed food, from French Fries to Miracle Whip, but O-3 is very difficult to find. You're going to find flax oil in a refrigerator in a health store, as it is sensitive to heat and light.

Flax trivia: also known as linseed oil, flaxseed oil is used as a wood finish (it's cooked first) and to toughen up paint. And sarin, the poisonous gas that was used on the Japanese subway, is made from the flaxseed. Yum!

Ensure sucks. If you just want to get extra carbs which all Ensure really is just snack on some fruit or other real food and like the person above said just take a multivitamin.

Just called up healthcentralrx.com (877-DRUG-411) to inquire about my sept. 28th order of Prolab 5lbs vanilla. They said warehouse is extremly backed up because of this promotion and they hope to get my order shipped within a week.

one question. What is a good mass building/muscle toning product that tastes like anus? in my life experience the more pain something cause, the better it is for you ie. veggies, homework, running. something that just has the basics in it, no sugar coating.

Ogewo:

Try this:
icky whey gunk

Quote--"The hydro 520 does not mix well with a spoon. A blender must be used for mixing. It has an extremely bad taste...One must NOT think that they can drink it straight.... How many times have you seen Designer Protein advertise how they won some gold medal taste award and how Labrada brags they win blind taste tests. Hydrolyzed 520 is a god awful tasting product. I remember my first experience with the "520" in that I dry heaved over my kitchen sink."

That's from the seller/producer of the product!

I received my order of Sept.27 today. It's very discouraging, though, that they took all of their email addresses except the one to the pharmacy offline.

Protein... BAH! Keep in mind research has shown that high protein consumption reduces longevity and intelligence so don't overdo it... just a couple of protein shakes a day will fill the bill

Also consider L-Glutamine... it's some GOOD stuff

i think 1g protein per lb body weight is good for those who wants to gain weight and grow stronger fast but for those who wants to maintain their current weight or go at a slower pace, then .5g per lb body weight is good enough.

something that i want to ask for those of you who are very knowledgeable in this area. i currently started to work out and drink these protein drinks and creatine. i've done it before but was never consistent and this is the first time that i'm being consistent. the first day i started i felt great. i used to sleep 10+ hrs and was still very tired during the day due to my lack of exercise and diet. but the day after i started to lift weight and drink the protein shakes, i felt great. even with 7 hrs of sleep i had more energy than before. but now a few days into it, i haven't changed anything much but i start to feel tired again. even more than before and my appetite aint too great either. i was wondering if this is because i'm burning off more calories than what i'm intaking? or is this just something you go through after having been so lazy for so long?

broadwayblue: through this thread's deal, you can get SteelBars for $0.89 each, which is a pretty good price. However, check out the ingredients:

Other Ingredients: Corn Syrup, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Maltodextrin, Sugar, Chocolate Liquor, Cocoa Butter...

This isn't exactly a health bar. It's more like a candy bar with a small scoop of protein powder mixed in. I'm not trying to criticize, just point it out. (Candy bars have their place.)

Hoeboy: you might want to get a physical. Sleeping 10+ hours a day and still feeling tired and lethargic is not normal for most people, whether or not they exercise. I'd say that the typical weightlifter is "wiped out" after a good workout for maybe an hour, but then has better focus throughout the rest of the day and better quality sleep at night.

yuck physicals. i was thinking it might be my diet. i usually wake up too late to have breakfast or lunch. i would have to goto class and eat lunch when i come home which is around 3pm. then i'd goto class aagain and have my dinner round 10pm. needless to say sometimes i goto bed on an empty stomach. another one of my friend suggest it might just be that i don't get enough water.

HOMEBOY...
Dude if you are only eating TWO times a day (are you serious, people who don`t even work out eat more than that), you may as well give up now. You need to be eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours, get your ass out of bed in the morning and start eating!

DO NOT go to bed on an empty stomach! If you have a fast metabolism then any muscle you could of possibly grown during sleep, will be eaten up by Mr Catobolism.

I think we should take Hoeboy's "advice" a few posts above with a few grains of salt. Ditto the Ensure drink recommendation! (Hey, at least you could pack 1 or 2 of those and drink them inbetween classes. That's a lot better than fasting for 16+ hours.)

Hoeboy, water-packed tuna and fatfree cottage cheese are two very cheap sources of protein. And there's always egg whites and chicken breasts.

Btw, I've been reading a lot lately about the benefits of casein as the optimal protein source (even better than whey, especially for anticatabolic effects). That's what cottage cheese mainly is. You've heard of "curds and whey?" Curds=cottage cheese=casein. proteinfactory.com has a lot of good info linked on casein.

It's been 2 weeks plus since I placed my DrugEmporium order and nothing yet. A few days after that order, I placed another order without coupon and that got to my door in 3 days. Go figure.

I've read through several threads here and I'm officially confused as to what I should do.
here is my situation:
I am currently a vegetarian, but I'm willing to drop that if its necesary.
I'm just barely over 6 feet tall and I weigh 155lbs. I'm lanky, but I do have muscles... I've been working out for the past year with limited success. my programs have changed and changed, but I've never encorporated a specific diet into it before. I've been told I should start taking protein... however, I dont' know what I should take: Whey or Soy.... also, although I do want to gain mass, I'm weary of getting fat.
my excercise schedule includes working out 6 times a week (muscle group switches each day, with weekends for legs), biking to university and back at least once a day, and finally a bit of jogging ever now and then. Anyone have advise for what I should buy?
Side note: i'm in canada

elSmoko: sounds to me like you just need to eat MORE quality food.. and supplimenting with protein shakes would be a VERY good idea...
whey protein is much better than soy, and is still okay if you're a vegetarian (not vegan, though).. try to eat 5 "meals" a day.. 1 or 2 of which could be protein drinks..
however.. if you're going to gain weight.. it's going to come as both muscle and fat.. that's how it goes.. but that's where a build/loss plan comes in..
work out and eat until you're happy with your muscle weight, but think you have too much fat.. then cut the calories, keep protein high, and do more cardio exercise to lose the fat.. some people supplement with epehdrine/caffiene/asprin here to help burn fat..
read around, check it out.. read the other 2 threads at the top, too.. good info
happy gaining
