50% off Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!!

In the Washington, D.C. area, Au Bon Pain goes to mild lukewarm prices everyday after 4:00 p.m. when its pastries, breads, etc. goes for 50% off. This deal, however, has recently gotten MUCH hotter because ABP is now distributing Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and yes, after 4:00 p.m., those doughnuts go for half off. Krispy Kreme at 50% off . . . hot or not?! IMO, there's nothing like eating a greasy doughnut in the afternoon, add a cup of coffee, and man, forget about working . . .

cheap doughnuts are good, esp. KK ones. if you are in the DC area, you should head down to the kk factory in alexandria (on route 1 going south, past the 495/95 on ramp, it'll be on your rt hand side )and pick up a dozen or so. make sure you eat one right there on the spot. nothing like a hot donut w/ oil and glaze dripping off of it.

Actually, KK are good - especially if they are still warm! Don't you still get a free one just for going in the store while you are in line?

Is the deal local or a national at any KK?

microwave them for 3-4 seconds and they taste better than eating them cold. add a coffee and you don't worry about cholestrol or crap like that. Live happy!!

the one in baltimore almost always gives a warm one free if the line is long.

A Krispy Kreme opened in Wisconsin a few weeks back, and on our way to a party, we decided to swing by and pick up a box as a joke.

There were EASILY 50 cars in the drive-thru, and maybe 150 people inside, waiting in line.

Needless to say, A) We left, and B) Now we know why Wisconsin leads the US Rankings in Obesity.

150 people? That's nothing. The KK here on the south side of Denver (currently the only one around) had a 2-3 hour wait for a month when it first opened.

KK are the best though, hands down.

I know the hot light is on all day on fridays so I need to swing by after 4P on Fridays while it's on in Alexandria.
Their other donuts are notably tasty also...

There may be some confusion, the hot deal is at Au Bon Pain (a chain pastry place), 50% off KK doughnuts after 4 pm every day.

I know someone who buys 5 at a time, arranges them in a circle on a plate, microwaves them, and chows down. I don't know if I can handle that type of volume...

Well, we didn't stick around the store in Wisconsin to get our KK's, so I have no idea how long the wait is. Knowing Wisconsin, it could have been a 2 day wait, and people would have stuck around for their donuts.

Suffice it to say, Wisconsinites are fat. Really fat. Waaaay fatter than people in Denver. Christ, walk thru any airport some day and look into each gate, where the flight is going. Then, look at a flight going to Milwaukee. 80% of them will be fat cows.

I wasn't kidding when I said WI leads the country in obesity, a title we jostle with Minnesota each year. It's really disgusting.

if you buy "entertainment books", they have *tons* of coupons, and they had like 4 buy 1 dozen, get 1 dozen free at KK. The book is $20, but they're specific for each county. their website. The highschools might sell them, because mine does. just to let you guys know
