Good deal. I personally find it incredible how movie studios keep finding ways of selling us the same old movies as "Special Editions" or in different formats (like Blu-ray and HD). I guess they are the smart ones making all the money.

The uncompressed audio and improved image quality that Blu-Ray offers is quite nice. This is a solid deal for those with Blu-Ray players (or a PS3).

Gonna suck if you redo your dvd/vhs collection and Blu-ray goes down the same path as Betamax.
OR visa versa for that matter with HD.

Makes sense. You can rent blu-ray and HD-DVD for no extra charge from Netflix, and they carry all US releases except pr0n.

FYI, blu-ray is far in the lead now thanks to the PS3, with BD disc sales more than twice HD-DVD this year.

Even with the shaky launch of the PS3 they sold more PS3s in the US last month than the total sales to date of HD-DVD players and xbox HD drives.

I am just trying to get the money worth out of my PS3, its otherwise sitting here collecting dust. Besides, at these 50% off pricing, I be better off paying a buck or two more for a blu-ray than a plain DVD.

I realized that I am more of a 360/wii person, not having rumble on the controller sucks.

Grabbed kung-fu hustle as well, heard good things about it.
