Crap! I can't post the coupon code...

The link is over at Dealtaker in their deals section.

If you call and order, its a lot easier and does not require a coupon code. They can do it for you over the phone. I ordered a week ago:

A 3100cn color laser printer, black toner 4 pack for the 3100cn, a 1600n mutli-function laser printer, and 1 5,000 sheet toner cartridge for the 1600n.

Total price came up to $599.64 for all of the above. Not a bad deal considering that that is just slightly above the list price for the 3100CN color laser printer alone.

FYI, I got the 1600n Multifunction Printer for 50% off a week or two ago. As long as you realize that you cannot scan or fax over the network, and you cannot fax over USB, this is a great unit for $200 for home use.

I'm tempted to jump on the 1600N for $200. Anyone else have any experience with it?

Thinking of getting the A960 for the parents. Is it a good idea to stock up on a couple extra catridges since it is 50% off?

I reread my post and realized I made an error. If you call in, the 50% off is available on almost any printer as long as you buy 2 printers, yes you can mix and match. If you only buy one however, %50 off is only available on certain models such as the 1600n. Other printers not included in the %50 off of one deal have lower discounts attached to them.

Anyone know if you can get catridges elsewhere for the A960? I'm debating spending another $60 ($30 after coupon) on 2x extra B/W and 1x extra color catridges.

I got the 1700 to add by searching for it, and adding the printer with the 1 year advance exchange service to the cart. About $99 after discount.

Any one know of toner refills that work with these, or do they need a whole new catridge

I got one of their all in ones a few months ago and ordered several extra cartridges. It works great and you should most definitely get the extra cartridges at half off cause they are costly otherwise.

I decided not to get one. Even though the catridges are half off, when you run out, you may well have to buy more FROM DELL. And they're expensive.

Regarding the 1600n, I also got in a couple weeks ago when the printers were 50% off. For $215 shipped I got to say that it is a really good price. The text is extremely crisp and clear, and most importantly it is a laser printer. Most all-in-one laser printers usually cost around $300 or more. This unit is excellent for a home office or small business. The only problem is that the internal cooling fan, is a little on the loud side. This printer is louder than my PC. Besides the noise, the functions are extremely useful. If you plan on shopping for an all-in-one device this might be a good choice.

The fan stops after a few minutes of idleness right? Does it emit noise on standby?

Without calling in, can you get half off the toner cartridge for the 1600N with printer purchase?

That is how Dell is making profit. They sell you re-badged Lexmark, etc. printers and then charge an arm and a leg for the ink. The regular ink cartridges won't fit because they have altered the design with notches, etc. so it is impossible to use the OEM cartridges unless you are willing to hack on it a bit with a dremel or something similar.

Yes, the fan turns off once the printer goes into standby. And the printer is virtually silent when in stand by.

How long does it take for the 1600N? What a noisy printer...

Actually they are rebadged Lexmark inkjets and the carts are slightly modified for Dell - SO YOU HAVE TO BUY YOUR REPLACEMENT CARTS FROM DELL. That's the whole idea! I say fageddabout it and buy a Canon!
