I would think you would be more suspicious if you had a pile of stuff in your arms...

so far it worked at 2 diff BBB for bedding items, but just now at a third BBB, the manager said they'd take it, but only for things that lechter's would carry. I didn't have much of an argument for that. Seems reasonable to me.

Someone else that I gave this to tried to use it and the floor manager said that it's a copy and they don't take copies. When they explained to the store manager than legally an internet coupon that is printed is the same as an original coupon, they accepted it.

Also, about the part about one item. If you really don't want to rape them too bad and have other stuff to buy, I'd think you'd have more of a chance with multiple items. One at 50% off, rest (cheaper items) at full price (did I just say that one this board) and maybe the manager would be more willing to make that deal.

Rethought things today, and decided not to call the home office afterall. (Good thing that I didn't do it... I think a lynching party would have formed around here shortly afterward)

When I got in from work this evening and read the posts after mine, I was glad I didn't.

This is one deal I'm going to be forced to miss out on, but I'll make up for it in the long run.

Well, I score 0 for 2 today...tried at Linens and Things--manager said you could only use it on stuff that Lechter's carried. No problem--find something that they probably had, get to the cashier, and find out the item was ringing up the wrong price (there's two stickers: $39.99 and $49.99). The cashier can't override the price (system won't allow it), so she gets the manager over. Turns out they won't take the coupon AND the $10 price difference on the item (either one or the other, but not both). I left it and tried BBB...manager said they won't accept internet coupons--PERIOD.

The coupons go into my shredder next chance I get.:disgust:

Just used my coupon at Linens-n-Things to get a $100.00 Grind and Brew coffee maker for $50.00. This was in Towson, MD.
they wouldn't let me use it for things that Lechter's doesn't sell. The manager even suggested that I use it on a $500.00 Calphalon cook set!

Corporate doesn't care where you got the coupon, provided it's not a forgery (and it doesn't appear to be). They're not going to reverse a nationwide policy of accepting competitor's coupons over ONE lechter's coupon. Just relax. No, you don't have to seek out the cashier with the lazy eye or go into the store 5 minutes before closing. I walked into a BBB and had absolutely no problem using the coupon. They didn't frisk me, they didn't insist that I whisper, and I wasn't even wearing a fake moustache.

You should have taken him up on the Calphalon offer - it's harder to get that stuff on sale than it is oakley's! Usually even the &quot;normal&quot; 10 or 15% off coupons have fine print that says it's not valid on Calphalon and a few other things.

It is pretty kickass cookware. Chicks dig it, too.

Only decent cookware set I saw was Wearever 14piece set... the kind that says safe for metal utensils. Regular 149.99. On sale for 99.99. 1/2 off = 50.00 !!!

Hmm, no luck here. I've never heard of Lechter's, and the only places near here (Austin, TX) seem to be in San Marcos and Houston. The manager lady at BBB said it wasn't valid since there was no Lechter's in town, so they weren't a &quot;competitor.&quot; I'm going to Houston in a few days anyway, so maybe I'll try it there. Are these Lechter's stores a big chain elsewhere in the US?

The great thing about the Calphalon sets is when you spend enough to get the $50 bonus giftcard, you can turn around and go back into the store and pick out something for $100, use another Lecters 50% off coupon (bringing it down to $50) then use the giftcard to pay for it, thus making the $100 item to zero. In other words the the giftcard used in combination with the coupon is actually worth $100. This is a hot deal.

Top of the line Calphalon pots and pan set: $500 - $250 for coupon = $250, receive the instant $50 giftcard,buy something for $100 and use another coupon with the giftcard and that item is free.

Well Bed, Bath, and Beyond wouldn't take my coupon. They said they got an e-mail from
corportate saying that it can only be used for gadets now. So I just went to Lechters
and bought what I was going to buy at BBB. I actually came out $5.00 ahead.
