There was an earlier comment about burning these at half the speed. I burn them at 4x without a hitch and yes they do not have Ridata inside the inner ring but only once

I really wish they would advertise whether or not the G04's are really premium G04's (Ritek/Ridata on inner ring) or the not-quite-premium runs.

Strange I've orrder countless times from meritline and every time I get discs with "Ridata" on the inner circle. they discs camed packed just same as one picture newegg shows.

Weird, mine came packed in spindles. Do you happen to have a link to the specific ones you ordered from them?

The reason for them is that not all set-top DVD players like the -R's. One of my friends can take movies from me that are burned on the +R, but not the -R (no matter what speed I burn them at).

That's odd, considering -R is more compatible than +R. Guess that's why it's best to have a dual-format burner...I feel for people who rushed out to buy a DVD burner and got stuck with a single format drive.

Why not get a 100-pack for $63 then?

Copied and Pasted from somewhere else:

Shop4Tech.com has Ritek 100 Pack 4x Shiny Silver DVD-R Media for $63 after 10% off coupon code "Monthly10" with Free Shipping. Plus you will get a FREE DVD-RW 1X 4.7 GB 5pack with cd sleeves with your order.

Wow that's the cheapest yet, and all the review are ***** stars. Hopefully they're not filtering out any bad reviews.

G04's rock and that's a great price. Thx for the coupon code!! Does it have an expiration or is it good all the time?

I feel for people who delated getting a burner until the dual standard ones were released. I still enjoy the backups I've made on 1X -R, 2X -R, and 2.4 +R recorders long beflore I got my first dual standard one. Both -R and +R media play fine in my DVR, though it will only burn + media.

Heh, that may be, but there's nothing I can't burn now that I could burn 2 years ago...

here

I guessing you order these
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://
http://www.meritline.com/ritek-g04-4x-grade-dvd-r-dvdr-blank-media-disc-discs-bulk.html">http://www.meritline.com/ritek-g04-4x-grade-dvd-r-dvdr-blank-media-disc-discs-bulk.html</a>

I should tell you when I ordered the 2nd link wasn't even avaliable. only the first link was. if I remember correctly it was the only ritek ones offered.

Thanks!!! I went with this deal. Although I didn't see anything about any DVD-RW's. No matter to me though I'm happy with .64$ high quality dvd's!!!!

No people! They are cheaper at shop4tech.com ..... especially with a certain coupon code that is valid right now.

Reseller Ratings: Shop4Tech.com = 6.0. Newegg = 9.80. To get the best price at Shop4Tech, you have to search for and find a "certain coupon code that is valid right now", but may not be valid tomorrow. Without that code, Newegg is cheaper. To get the best price at Newegg, you have to place the order.

I went with Newegg, and have always received discs from them with ritek or ridata printed on the inner hub. Apparently some who have purchased from shop4tech.com have received discs that did not have this printing on the inner hub.

went with the shop4tech.com deal, better price than newegg (20 dollars more gives me 50 more discs). Have gotten discs without ridata/ritek printed on the inner circle from newegg in the past. Newegg is not immune to this problem.

How great is newegg guys? They run a Mother's Day Special on this item, then pull the deal when it ACTUALLY IS Mother's Day! Thanks newegg!

This is most likely because the +R disc was book typed to DVD-ROM instead of DVD+R. This is one of the main reasons I use +R's now. The other would be 8x recording Ritek/Ricoh's are the prefered media for +R's as well...

No matter where you buy your blank media, it's certainly great to see the prices slip downway every week. With this slow, steady decline, coupled with the soon to be released 12X and 16X media as well as DL media, now is definately not the time to stock up with huge numbers of blanks.

I can't wait to see the Riteks as FAR material and that will probably happen before the end of the year.

Personally I had bad luck with Meritline and would trust newegg more. The Ritek G04's (supposedly - totally unlabeled) they shipped me would not burn above 2.5x with any dependability at all on my NEC 2500A.
