I had been screwed out of two CDR rebates from CC. The brand was STI. It was $5 each, not worth my time to fight it. Buyer beware.

I bought cdrs from CC ..they were Fuji...finally got the CC rebate after calling ..4 mo..took Fuji even longer....

Waiting on another Fuji rebate ...was supposed to take 20 days after they received everything..well I am going on 3 months...I see not speed improved with the online registration....

just got a SanDisk rebate...it was very fast...less than 8 weeks

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I am waiting for someone to give thier opinion on the quality of this cds. I know I shouldnt complain if they are FREE, but I would rather not get them at all if they are cheepies that have the coating peel off.

I did not think this FAR CD-R spindle from CC is very good deal - no-name brand, two rebates involved which can be very slow. But when I finally decided to give it a shot, it's all OOS online or pick-up!

I guess free is always good...

I bought Jensen media last time CC had a sale, but I don't remember what speed. I burn them at 20X for audio for my friends. They are cheap as they have no writing surface, but free is free (and damn sales tax).

Here's what my Lite-On reads:

Hey its 20 bucks but the 2 $10 rebates are a bit iffy.

I would go for the BB and CUSA deals, they are 9.99 and 14.99 before rebates, and the CUSA comes with a free 100 pack of CD sleeves.

I suspect these are the same STI cdrs they have been giving away (for those that got their rebates) for a year now about once every month or so. Still have about 125 left from a deal last year. They are cheaply coated, will peel over time but for what it's worth they have burned fine in both my plextor and lite-on and read just fine.

Actually I haven't had any problems with peeling or flaking of mine but was just passing on what others have said about these. I apologize for the heresay in as far as my experience is concerned.

Phthalocyanine is the dye used in Riteks
cyanine is what TY's use
and of course, TY's are much better

hehe yea i had a lot of those old 5 pack 5 dollars frys gold cds sitting around from 4? years ago.. seem fine so far. the ones i used for music mixes in the car without cases.. well yea they got shreded.

so basically just about any CD-R will last cause ive had some cheap cd-rs for like 2 yrs now and they still work fine!

oh wow, heh these are truely bare bone discs, no writing surface at all havn't had any this cheap for a while, most cheapies now have atleast a dull cruddy coating. ah well
