How would you use this ram? I've only seen motherboards that support 3200, let alone 4000.

PC4000 = 250mhz fsb
PC3200 = 200mhz fsb

All you would do is bump the fsb to 250, the difference is the theoretical output of 4000mb/s vs 3200mb/s

865/875 chipsets can support well over 250 mhz fsb

I do moderate overclocking, and I recently upgraded all my computers to AMD XP Bartons. This saved me lots of money on the cpu's and the memory. I'm happy already.

shady06, those intel chipsets still only have a 200mhz bus dont they, only multiplied by 4 as opposed to 2? Btw we have nearly the same computers except I have a 120 gig HD, slk 900, and I use the onboard soundstorm audio.

Assuming your mainboard can take advantage of this ram (higher ddr voltages, i865/i875 chipset, etc) we found this to be pretty capable memory.

Mild/Hot.

i got these from newegg when they first came out. i agree you'll need to make sure your mobo can provide plenty of vdimm (at least 2.8). i have the dfi lanparty, which only provides vdimm of 2.7. and needless to say, i couldn't get these rams to run at anywhere near 250mhz, i think i couldn't even get to 230mhz. they went back to newegg. i now have the new geil 4000 with 2.5-7-7-4. they appear to run fine as advertised, but i'm not convinced that my computer is 100% stable. there's a review on pcstats.com on these new geil rams, and based on the review, they needed vdimm of 2.8 to run completely stable. they were able to get it to run at 260mhz on vdimm of 2.8. personally, i think the geil is a better deal at $150, but you may want to go with the kingston if you've had good experience with it. just make sure your mobo can provide enough juice to run these high speed rams.

yes, they are quad pumped. the only difference with this is that you can run 250 mhz fsb (1000 mhz quad pumped) in sync with the cpu which will result in better performance rather than using a divider and having the CPU and FSb run at different frequencies

Gogogo 1ghz FSB. Hehe, that would be nice. The newer MB can definitely go that high, of course, much tweaking with ram timings and different voltages is required.
