Any device with an output (headphone jack) can be plugged into a car stereo's inputs where available, a wireless FM transmitter or else a cassette adapter (in order of preference).

I got mine today, right on time as the company said. The controls are a bit weird at first, but I got used to them and its fine. It also has a digital voice recorder in it, so thats nice too. I've never had a usb mp3 drive like this before, but this one seems nice, and I like it. Also the package comes with some little earphone type things. I can't notice small differences in audio quality, but the earphones it comes with aren't that good of quality compared to regular headphones, or much else for that matter. Anyways those are my thoughts, I recommend it if you need an mp3 player like this one.

anything that uses an aaa battery is several times larger than that shuffle. i'd rather get a shuffle that works the way people use flash players(in reality) to some badly made junk with tossed on features and bulk. people use these players for quick runs, or workouts. making playlists each time u workout? thats extra work most people don't need.

several times larger??!! lol, you need to get your eyes checked. I'd rather have a device where I can replace the battery on my own then pay Apple outragous amount to do it.

But it is USB 1.1 = S L O W.

I picked up the Sandisk 1 gb for $114 AR a few weeks back. Other than not liking the ear buds (any ear buds for that matter, I'm a jogger) I'm real happy. Has FM and recorder (up to 45 min. recording time) One year parts AND labor (dbl up with a gold / Plat. card purchase)

For those who have this.. Is there a built in mic or do you have to plug one on the mike jack? How is the voice recorder?

I would not prefer an iriver mp3 player just because it needs iriver's software to copy songs to it. Can't use it like a USB flash drive. Don't get me wrong, i have owned the SlimX iMP-350 and its one of the best out there but not their flash based palyers.

Man, this is just the type of device I want..the specs on their page are a little lacking, can anyone report the dimensions and weight of this unit? Any hisses/pops in terms of sound quality? Anyone try it with headphones over than the buds it shipped with? Thanks.

Ed: Also would be nice to get an idea of how long it will go on the AAA bat...

I think it is quite small... maybe 3 inches long, inch wide, 3/4 inch thick, maybe thats an overestimate. I know others have different definitions, but it may not be AS small as something w/o a triple a battery.

I'm satisfied with the sound quality myself and mentioned in a previous post I thought the earbuds it came with weren't any good and it was only working out of the right side of them when I plugged 'em in. I would definitely recommend buying some other headphones... they got a couple cheap ones on the website too. I'll try to report back when I can test out the microphone system more extensively.

but you need a cable to connect the sandisk to a computer. dealbreaker that komusa one looks really good, but that usb 1.1 isn't making me happy... hmm...

i found a few reviews on the egoman at komusa....a couple on resellerratings and one at gameve. it looks decent for the money...the 1gb and small size + no cable would kina make up for it being slower.... how long do you think it would take to transfer 1gb at usb 1.1 speeds? hmm..

The OMISYS web site doesn't show anything about the 512MB MP3 player. They do show the 256MB with FM (333F) and a 128MB (332) with Internal FM radio ( 87MHz ~ 108MHz ), FM stereo radio receiver direct recording (Option ). Its kind of a barebones site.

Anyway, I ordered one 512MB from Dealsonic. Thanks for the post.

Picked it up after it was back in stock, received it this morning. So far, everything looks pretty good. Just drag and drop files over, and you're ready to go. I'm a little worried about the jog/toggle dial, and how it'll hold up to repeated use. Playback quality seems just as good as playback on PC (using Grado SR-60 headphones).

I haven't explored the other features (voice recording, address book and importing, lyrics), but this already does everything I want it to. Good price, too!

I got mine 2 days ago, the black finish on it is very nice, sort of like a chocolate truffle in black, kinda like the cover of IBM thinkpads. And after using it for the last 2 days, I realize that I really do need a screen. glad I didn't get a shuffle.

Also, the shuffle gets dirty very easily, I saw them at the apple store and most of the display units had dirt around the buttons, edges and seams. and it is very noticeable since the unit is all white. also the plastic on the shuffle is shiny, which looks cheap. The shuffle is thinner than this, but this is small and light weight enough that you won't notice it in any of your pockets. Which is exactly what i need.

just in time for my vacation to phuket!!!!!
