Got the last one my store, NCP chips. Seems to be doing fine 166fsb @ 6-3-3-CAS2 in an A7V333. Will stick it in an Nforce2 board tomorrow. Great deal, hopefully no hassle with the rebates.

I know it's a dumb question, but does PC2700 ram work with PC3200 ram well at 333mhz? The thing is, I got 512 PC3200 RAM but it doesn't work at 400mhz (overheating. Maybe because it doesn't have heatspreaders, or because both mobo and RAM are unofficial PC3200), so I clocked it at 133x2.5=333. Since it doesn't work for me at 400mhz, I don't need to expand it by 400mhz chip.

i think those heatspreaders actually trap heat. more likely it is the chips themself not good for 400, not about heatspreaders.

I had a 256mb stick of Pc2100 Infineon that did 205FSB, infineon is good stuff, but the other stuff is not bad either, seems like 175 or more FSB is possible with any of the chips.

But don't get the Spectek ships if you can avoid them, I had 7 sticks of the Spectek stuff and none were completely stable on any AMD rig I tried, and I tried lots.

I stuck 4 sticks of the PC2700 spectek chips in a IS7-E and it ran flawlessly, so I guess they just don't like AMD chipsets.

Rang up $89 for me. However I showed the CSR the price on the website and they rang it up for $79, as well as changed the rack price. Nice deal!

they did it a month ago on 256mb pc133 Centon ram it was supposed to be $50.00 and 2 X $20.00 rebates, but the stores were chargeing $40.00, I got 3 of them, and then like 3 days later all the stores in my area had changed the price to the $50.00 price.

Still got 3 though.

Is this CL2? or 2.5? I have a 512 stick of OCX CL2 in my box already..would this interfere or otherwise be incompatible in anyway with my existing 2700 stick?

i believe its 2.5, and it would slow your other ram down. if you get infineon chips you should be able to oc them to 2 however.

I picked up a couple of 512mb modules today. I hate having that much money waiting on rebates, but I wanted a GB for Star Wars Galaxies and I wanted the upgrade from my Muskin 512mb PC2100 RAM and I didn't want to mix 'em. I figure for the price, I can't go wrong.

I was happy when I brought them home and they registered with SPD as:
2 Cas# Latence
3T Row Recharge Time
6T Ras Pulse Width
3T Ras to Cas

I have no idea how fast they will overclock since I'm using an XP 1600+ with the old 266mhz bus... and I don't really know how to overclock. I did look up a good explaination of the BIOS settings at ViaArena\.

My view of this as a "best bang for the buck" kind of guy... HOT DEAL! After rebates and sales tax, I got 1GB of memory for about $50.

I went back and showed them a printout of the web price and they gave me a credit for $10. No hassle at all.

BTW, they wouldn't give me the extra 10% for the PM. They told me that they don't do it on PMs to their own web site. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

If I have a nforce 2 board and 3 of the same pc2700 in the three memory slots, would it deactivate the Dual DDR mode? Since two of them run in a dual mode and one in single mode.
