512MB of Crucial Memory for Asus A7V266-E for $122

Ordered, shipped, and installed in just over 24 hours. Gotta love Crucial.

My luck doubled this time, though. Turns out my best friend's roommates could use more RAM, so I get to sell the 384MB here and make back all but $12.41 of what I paid for this 512MB DDR DIMM.

512MB PC2100 for under $12.50 makes me happy.

what kind of chips are you guys getting? micron or samsung? the 512MB stick i got about 2-3 months ago had samsung memory chips on it... not that it's bad, it works flawlessly at 148fsb (i have my cpu vcore at default, any higher fsb, and i have to raise it a significant amount to get it stable)..

this is gonna go into my sisters dimension 4400 she just got.. hopefully ill be able to snag the 256MB ddr ram she has, and put it in my system.. i wonder how good dell pc2100 ddr memory is..

what does the cl=2.5 mean?

On my first dimension4400 I had 256mb stick that said cl=2.0
On the second dimension 4400 they put a 256 stick that said cl=2.5 and when I checked the memory benchmarks with Sandra the cl=2.5 stick was running about 40% slower!

What kind of numbers do you guys get with the Sandra benchmark?

Received Micron Chips on my stick.

CL is the latency of the RAM. CL2 is better than CL2.5 therefore its faster in Sandra. Good news is, Crucial RAM can take CL2 speed settings even if the FSB is overclocked, because of its high quality.

One can mix CL2 and CL2.5 RAM, but by default the computer will run all RAM at the slower latency.

thanks for the deal... althought the 512 won't work with my exisitng 256meg so I just bumped to 512.. but i'll be getting that 256 back somehow..... I twas viking ram.. that came with the board oh well.... 512 is better then 256!

Does anyone know for sure if this memory works with this ABIT board ? I am almost positive it will, but it still is good to get a confirmation from someone who is actually using this combo ...

it's alot better than the ~$160 it cost me in february... i was thinking of going to mushkin and get the basic pc2100ddr memory, but since this deal came along and never had any problems with crucial (have yet to get anything from mushkin, but i know they're reputable as well)..

The 256 meg sticks of crucial I have won't quit perform up to the mushkin sticks I have. Free shipping makes up for the tax I get charged.
