I'm kinda surprised that no one beat me to posting this. I like this stuff at $80 bucks a stick. I wanted to buy Mushkin Black Level II memory but it is selling for $141 a stick with the same specs.

Outpost.Com Patriot Extreme Performance Memory The listing is not very well written and the price has not changed lately. But write down the model number and look at what the manufacturer's page has to say about it.

PDP Systems Patriot Extreme Performance Memory Spec page Dual bank memory with 2-2-2-5-T1 timing.

Such a good deal that I had to buy some before I posted.

Is this a good 100th post?

I ordered some of this RAM recently. It's unstable in my Leadtek K8N at SPD settings, which are 2.5-3-3-8. It wouldn't run 2-2-2-6.

Outpost title says "Ex-Patriot 512MB PC3200 64x64 DDR 184Pin - CAS-2 w/Heat Shield - Model #PEP5123200LL - Lifetime Warranty"
Outpost item description "Ex-Patriot 512MB PC2700 64x64 DDR 184Pin - CAS-2 w/Heat Shield - Model #PEP5122700LL - Lifetime Warranty"
Which is it? PC3200 or PC2700

Sorry. I won't get my sticks until Monday. I used Airborne Express Ground delivery. They do state that they test their memory at PC3200.

I'm hoping for some overclocking, but I think I am building a low cost high performance synchonous memory bus Athlon Barton system. So, DDR400 will work for me.

No chance for personal test results. I have no DDR system available to me. I'm still using the ultimate Pentium II (2) dual processor motherboard, a Supermicro P6DBU.

Now waiting for 9800 Pro video card prices to drop below $200. I might have passed on this memory but it looks too good to last. Cheap and Happy about it.

I may be stubborn, but for memory affairs I can trust only Corsair, Mushkin, Samsung, Crucial and Kingston. Even Buffalo Tech is stretching it a little for me.

Ive used patriot 2700 in a system before, id say its on par with regular generic ram, i agree w/parasitic, i only stick with those companies for my own comps as well

k8 boards are picky with high speed timings. i couldn't even get a matched pair of corair xms to run at SPEC in my shuttle athlon64 XPC. and supposedly corsair is the bomb (it was my first, and last venture with them, but thats another story)

anyway, i got 2 sticks of 512mb mushkin level 1 pc3500 to run awesome (prime95 for 106 hours) at 2-3-2-6 at 218mhz fsb on a 3000+ overclocked to 2.18ghz

A friend of mine bought some of this RAM from Fry's last week. We are driving down to exchange it tomorrow morning. At default timings, Prime95 threw an error almost immediately, and now he is getting CRC errors when installing games. Hopefully it is just one bad stick.

I want to make a few facts more available.

1. Patriot Memory is manufactured by PDP Systems Inc. PDP Systems Inc has manufactured memory modules since 1990. They are a contract electronics manufacturer, CEM. They are attempting to be a world-class ISO certified technology supplier. (I worked for a local CEM in the mid-90s. They work very hard to build stuff to spec. Nothing extra, but it should do what it is said to do.)

2. Patriot Memory is sold in 2 performance grades. Signature is standard (cheap) CL3/CL2.5 memory. Extreme Performance and Dual Channel memory is low latency memory that supports the fastest out-of-the-box memory timings.

3. Outpost.com is selling Patriot Extreme Performance 512mb unregistered non-ecc PC3200 low latency memory for 80 bux a stick plus as low as $5.37 ground shipping. I ordered two sticks. The manufacture's part number for my order is PEP5123200LL. Patriot Extreme Performance Spec Page I'll be all over Outpost and really nasty if they do not ship what they said they have sent.

This deal is not about getting the cheapest memory. It is not about getting memory that 12 hardware review sites have tested and managed to overclock 25% above spec. This deal is about buying memory built to the highest performance specs for not much more than the price of cheap generic memory. The product line was only announced nine days ago on February 5th. I doubt we will see any reviews until PDP Systems recognizes that sales could be a lot better if a couple of HW sites give Patriot Extreme Performance an "official" overclocker's blessing.

Good luck and remember YMMV, your mileage may vary.

They also have listed 512 PC4000 DDR500 (PEP5124000EL) with 3-4-4-8-T1 timing settings for $69.99 after a $20 MIR good through 2-17. I wonder what settings you could use at PC2700. Cheap price.

512 DDR500 $69.99 AR

Airborne Express Ground Rocks. Received memory today. Definitely PEP5123200LL. Sorry, can't get aluminum heat-spreaders off to check what brand of memory chips. The boards are green Delta Omega (greek characters) BDMA83A, if that means anything to anyone. It looks like they use tape to get better heat transfer to the heat-spreader or to better identify when somebody buys cheap memory and attempts to RMA/exchange it as Patriot Extreme Performance memory.

I'll check back to see how things turn out (does this stuff overclock well?) I'm watching for a good ABIT NF7-S v2 deal now. I hope to assemble my slightly obsolete extremely high performance system by June.

Please let me know if you find a good deal on that ABIT board.. I'm looking for the same thing to pop up.

Agreed. Where did this BH-5 discussion come from? If that's what it is, I'll take 2. Please PM me before letting anyone else know

watch for this stuff to be on sale somewhat frequently at Fry's. A buddy was telling me ealier tonite that he had gotten a twin-pack of pc4000 last month for $60 after a $20mir and that the stuff is bulletproof for him. He likes the fact that they put heatsinks on them. That was two 256mb sticks and his board is running rock solid overspec.
