$137.65 + about 11 bucks shipping, but there's no sales tax if you choose to not have insurance on the shipping, and there's also an option to pick it up at their Southern California store. For SoCal people (like me) it might be worth the drive out there to save the $20 bucks on shipping and tax. Not trying to thread crap. Good post Autolycus. >>

Are you sure about the tax on pick-up? I added the memory to my cart and this is the sales info. it gave me:

Insurance/Handling/Tax(if any) $0.00

Shipping: Pickup /Will-call (S.CA)($10Handling fee <$100)/ PO/CASH ONLY $0.00

It seems like they're not going to charge for tax. Did you call them or something? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering how you got your info.

Murphy: You officially need a kt333 to use this at its full potential, however, people have been using it at that speed for a while.

I would like to complain that memory SHOULD be able to run @ 166mhz @ Cas2 for them to advertise it as PC2700, but I would be laughed out of the industry by the Marketeers

no it shouldn't. since there hasn't been Jedec approval until recently, anybody could advertise anything they want. like OCZ advertising PC2700 when it was handpicked PC2100 stuff. now that there is approval, we will see more compliant spec listings.

also, PC2100 is only 2.5 (hence most RAM, like crucial, advertising it like that). what makes you think PC2700 needs to be cas 2? plus these ratings are nominal anyway. the put it because it is teh minimum they need to put, gives them less to guarantee. i have 256 samsung running at 198 at aggressive timings. but i bought it for $90. for $135 or so, it is a steal.

No, this is not genuine Samsung. See this thread. Newegg looks like it's genuine now seeing as how they publish the actual part number that corresponds with the Samsung part. Most other places are a bust.

My experience with Google Gear is that it's Samsung chips on a generic board. Mine's on a POWMEM board, but I've been able to get it to 2797/2797 in SiSoft Sandra. I haven't been able to successfully duplicate those results, so I'm just over 2700 in the benchmarks now.
