Im kinda new to the whole 3d mark thing. i scored 5199 on this rig

is that a decent score

What version of 3DMark? Check FutureMark ORB to see if it's a good score. Compare with people with similar rigs.

its actually a trial version of 3dmark 05, i couldnt get into futuremark ORB

You must create an account on futuremark's site to save your benchmark score on ORB. But yes, that is quite a good score.

here is mine before i o/ced, but the o/c didn't make much of a difference with 05.

ahhi checked it out, i scored higher than some guy that had same proc speed and a 7800gtx512?!?! omfg thats pwnage

Edit:wow bob were about the same nice right though

I've also just run the trial version of 3dmark 05 on my rig below.
Managed 7399. Comparing with others I think that's about right. At least I know I haven't screwed anything up during the build to affect perfomance.

Now where are all those overclocking threads.......

Superoo: Heh, i've got a very similar rig and i can just hit 8K when i OC my 7800, yours is pretty much right for stock settings / low OC.

I use the stripping RAID just because I access large files such as videos and photoshop stuff. I did a comparison with a single drive of the same make and the RAID array sped up the access time by a lot (maby about 50%ish maby more).

Game time loading, didn't really change at all, but I had the 200gb lying around so I decided to RAID0 them for double the storage. I got a 120gb drive too that I use for backup and other downloads and essential stuff I can't afford to loose (like AP Chem lab writeups )

THG enable some of the eye candy when they do 3dmark05 which is why our scores look so much better. Still i'm sat on 8k and it's utterly stable so i'm pretty damned happy with it.
