I need to change my motherboard. I plan to keep my present 2.4B P4 processor but I can upgrade if worthwhile. How significant a difference will a 2.4C with 800MHz FSB be in comparison on an Abit IC7 MB.
What kind of stuff do yuo do on your computer? if it's mainly word processing, then you won't notice squat. If it's gaming, then the 2.4C should pull more FPS out of your video cards gluteous maximus.
at stock speeds the 2.4c will mop the floor with a 2.4b.
when overclocked to 3+ghz there isnt much if any difference tho.
the 2.4c's HT may help in some apps, but it also hurts in some others.
id suggest using your 2.4b for awhile, if youre unhappy with its performance ~ overclock it! (or get a C chip)
