While funny on its own, and I doubt this is happening at Staples, I have seen/witnessed other "mistakes" which were anything but mistakes.
At times, companies are actually a bit more on the ball than some might think. I realize this is probably not the case here, and in most cases as well.
OTOH, having done consulting with companies, I have come across attention grabbers which would border on this one.
Again, I realize this is more than likely a late night typo, but to merely look at the other side of it.
If this page gets e-mailed to others, then they e-mail it to others, then it gets posted around the net on deal sites, etc, etc, they get quite a bit of traffic.
A few curious people click-on another part of the site, and browse things. Look for other wrong prices, and a few might find an item or two they are interested-in. All it cost Staples was an "error" in pricing in their favor of ridiculous proportion.
Yea, yea, I know, there is no Staples employee coordinating this on the grassy knoll.
But ya never know. Didn't they come-out this week with hard evidence on a second shooter by the grassy knoll?
