55" Akai HDTV for $1299 @ Costco

Was walking through Costco today. They had these 55" Akai TV's for 1499 - 200 coupon. These seem to be rebadged Samsungs HCN553W . Link for sammy specs Prettry good deaL it seems. Wish I had the $

I don't think it is-

I looked very closely at this set, and it only had one component input and no DVI.

Costco's doesn't deliver so that makes it worthless to me anyways.

BJ's on the otherhand now delivers.

Yes , but Costco guarantees the set for as long as you own it.....worth more than delivery IMHO.

Definitely worth more, you can rent a truck at most Home Depots for $20 for 90 minutes.

Funny how there are no reviews on this unit at all... What good is a warranty if you have to keep trucking it back and fourth???

I suppose after the third time they would give you option to give your $$ back.....

Thanks to let us know this. Also it's very heavy to move a 55' HDTV. You have to use special tool or at least 2-3 men to handle this.

yeah you need at least 3 guys...I saw thees 2 poor fellows trying to load a 50 inch tv into their pickup truck...damn they were gonna break their backs...I would've helped but I had to make a meeting

I have picked up and installed my fair share of big Screens. They weigh a ton. Had a friend, drop his big screen, took $1200 to fix it. Broke it before he ever go it home.

I pay people to do it anymore, just not worth the risk. But my next tv will be the 50" Plasma, will still have it installed, even though it is not too heavy.
