5563 3dmarks with gf3 + xp 1800+

I've seen system specs lower than mine scoring well over 6000+. Can anyone help me increase my 3dmarks? My system specs are as follows:

Athlonxp 1800+
Epox 8KHA+
512MB Crucial PC2100
Gainward GF3 PowerPack !!! Golden Sample at 230/530
60GB Maxtor Diamondmax Plus ATA133
Audigy Platinum
WinXP Pro

Benchmarks were run at default.

Hmm, there's definitely something wrong. Although my system is a little different, I get 7611 my 1600+ at 1533 (146fsb, I know this should give a little more power than your real 1800+) and my Ti200 oc'ed to 230/530), your score should be about the same.

Haven't got any suggestions, cannot help you without knowing more about what drivers you use like LuDaCriS66 said. You have fsaa turned off like pillage2001 suggested?

I score higher than that with a P3-933 and a Gainward GF3 Ti200 @ 230core/520mem.

Make sure AA is off, as well as antistropic filtering. Make sure all drivers are correctly installed. etc

That score is too low. Try reinstalling windows.

I get low 7000s with my rig (celeron-II @ 1577, 384 Mb SDRAM @ 131 Mhz, GF3 Ti200 @ 230/540)

That's absolutely rediculous. Reinstalling windows just because of low 3dmark score? Are you insane?

I have a question. How is performance in actual games. If its normal, who cares what your 3dmark score is.

it sounds like you may be running with D3D VSync enabled...

you need a "tweaker" utility to get it turned off if the Vsync option is not shown on your display properties

display properties => settings => advanced => Geforce3 => Direct3D

you can get RivaTuner here if you want to try it.


(look for the two buttons with triangles on them... click on the lower one (driver tweaks) and then

the D3D button, then VSync tab.... set to 'off by default'

You will also see a button labled "60Hz". this is a very nice fix so when an application changes your screen

resolution to something different from what your desktop was, your monitor will be forced to its max refresh

rate for the new resolution, instead of going to 60Hz

Hope this helps... (seems like you should see between 7000 and 7500 with your system)

It's just silly ol me who forgot to change the settings in Powerstrip. Thanks alot to all of you guys!!

Sorry for the extremely late reply!

In driver options I un-ticked everything except 'use fast linear mipmap filtering(opengl) and disable vertical sync(direct3d)

Everything else remained unchecked.

Update!: Latest 3dMark2001 score went up from 8163 to 8172 with 2Mhz increment in Mem speed
