56k modem fax out software

For Windows XP, is there an open source (hopefully sourceforge) piece of software that is recommended for faxing out? I have a 56k modem on a really old laptop that I want to fax out and fax into here and there.

Doesn't windows xp have a built in fax software?

It does, but I have found it to be problematic. We still use it and haven't really found anything better.

Essential FAX (formerly RKS FAX by RKS Software, the developer of Mighty FAX)

I used to use this, and it worked very well for my purposes. My computer was in charge of everything telephony related for awhile, and this software was the core.
