Ahh, I get it.
Yeah obviously the 6800U is a much better card than the 5800U, but:
A. The 5800U has a 500MHz core, still faster than 6800U
B. The 5800U has the FlowFX, a definite "hot rodder" add-on. How many guys have Silencers now?
C. The 5800Us were all built on special high quality PCBs by nVidia, distributed to boardmakers for fan add on only.
D. The 5800U is the original dual slot behemoth.

Sheesh Rage, hate to say it, but half of what you posted came out of a crack pipe.
2. 5900s came out after 5800s? They were meant to address the limitations of the 5800s with their 256 bit memory interface and better shader performance? Even so 5800Us are about as fastas 5900NUs at most benchmarks.

my bad, I had 5600 on the mind.

NP, you were surprising me though.
The 5800 Ultra used DDR2, not GDDR3.Originally posted by: Acanthus
As far as i know the slowest GDDR3 bin speed for samsung is 1.1ghz, so i could see some easy OCing potential as well on the memory.

Correction the bins are 1.0ghz, 1.1ghz, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6. With 1.3ghz+ being rediculously expensive.
It may not be quiet, but it does get the hot air out of the case. The FlowFX solution wasn't executed very well, but it was a good idea. If they didn't do intake and exhaust through the backplate it would have been much quieter and more efficient.Originally posted by: TheSnowman
People get the Silencers because they keep things quiet and blow the hot air out of the case, the FlowFX does neither.Originally posted by: Rollo

EDIT: Rollo, think we should petition Carmack for the re-inclusion of the NV3x path?
