Hello
Thanks for taking a look.

I am building this now in the USA and would like to get everything from
Newegg or my local Frys.

$1,200 to $1,500 Total.
Used for Video Editing and Encoding.

5820K is already purchased for $300
Windows 10 Home already purchased for $100
CASE already purchased=
Thermaltake Commander G42, ATX Mid Tower Gaming $50

So, $450 already spent.

There's going to be an MSI X99 Raider motherboard on sale at Frys this black friday in store $119 after promo code.

Then get some DDR4 ram 16 or 32 gigs. 2400 Mhz should be enough. Make sure its quad channel and not dual. And then there's lots of good deals on SSDs like a Samsung 850 Evo.

It looks like this is coming in under budget, I wonder if I only need to spend about $50 on a Video Card, or should I go with a 750 TI ?

Thanks Again!

So you should probably get two more for quad-channel. It might work as-is for now, though.

If you need to deal with HEVC video, a GTX 950 would be a good choice. Otherwise, most cheap video cards should work.

This external 5TB drive, at $110, is cheaper than any internal 5TB drive I could find. Not sure how easy it is to get it out of its case, though, if you want to use it as an internal drive.

Some external drives don't work properly as internal drivers, presumably for firmware reasons. OP should be careful of this.

@OP, get yourself a really nice chair and an outrageous monitor.

****Get 32GB DDR4 Quad Ch 3000/3200. That is the sweet spot.****
I will try to get 2 more sticks of the 8GB 3200 RAM

I went with a GTX 960 so that some decent level of gaming is possible for visitors.

2 - 3TB WD Green HDD for mirrored storage.

So, it comes out within Budget and I think it is awesome. I'm not quite finished putting it together.

Of course, a nice chair for the icing on the cake would be nice.

Thank you everyone for reading. And for those of you that responded, you helped brighten my world.
