5870 1gb vs 6950 2gb?

How well do they perform against each other in terms of FPS? I recently got a 6950 and I'm starting to regret it since the 5870 benchmarks seem pretty much the same and the 5870 is almost a full $100 less. I play Bad Company 2 at highest settings 1920x1200.

Bad Company 2 don't like Amd cards that much. Seriously you don't want the 58xx and 59xx cards
If anything like this is done on a card coz of fed up users then you know a card is a problem

They are about even, but in the future when games use more tesselation the 6950 should come out on top.

Dude stop, you're not helping anyone. Educate yourself before you post, several users already told you, both camps have the same problems. Ignoring one doesn't make their problems disappear.
Besides, BC2 is a gaming evolved game. How can you say it doesn't like AMD cards? thats just lol.

The tessellation and extra 1gb will come into play more and more.
Be sure to unlock the shaders to 1536 but do not flash to the 6970 bios:

IMO they are almost the same card performance-wise, just the 6950 has more progressive features and handle higher res better.

I'd get the 6950 only because the improved tessellation performance over the 5XXX series.

The 6950 will also scale much better in crossfire than the 5000 series if you ever go that route. The scaling on the 6000 series is really amazing, in some games it gets damn close to 100%.

You're either getting 5870's dirt cheap, or paying too much for the 6950. If the difference really is ~$100USD, then I'd get the 5870. It should only be about 1/2 of that. Are you in the US?
