WoooooHoooooo!

Finally scored one with the Blackberry. Sitting in the exit row at the gate at SJC.

I guess this reduces my gambling budget when I get to Vegas.

Following up from a previous post, I talked to one of the people at zipzoomfly and they indicated that even though I placed my order while the 5870 video card was "in stock", that doesn't necessarily tag a physical item to the order and it may be stuck in "Processing" state until the product comes back in.

Lame. If it is still processing on Friday I'll cancel.

Granted the xfx is 10 bucks more than the saphhire it also has a lifetime warranty whereas sapphire is only 2 years. I would have paid 10 bux more for lifetime even though I replace video cards about every 1-2 years.

Either they really did get a huge shipment of 5850s, or the $310 price has tempered the enthusiasm, cuz they're still in stock. Going on 4 hours now. That's got to be a record. I know I'm not buying one at that price.

XFX's double lifetime warranty is definitely worth a few extra dollars to me, as I almost always sell off my current card when upgrading. When buying a used card, I'm much more likely to go with the XFX choice for the warranty.

It's only $10 difference, and like others here pointed out, the lifetime warranty makes it acceptable. I know I have always paid a little extra for EVGA Nvidia cards because of their lifetime warranty.

I pulled the trigger on the XFX 5850, will be my first ATI card since the 9700pro. Now to try and find a way to camouflage the big red strip facing out of my case's window. Everything else is blue, lol.

I'm not complaining about the $10 difference between XFX and other brands. The warranty is worth it. I'm talking about the $50 mark-up because of these damn supply issues. I'll wait til January. I'm buying my pieces as I get the money anyway, so it'd just sit here til at least then anyway.
