What happened to The Abominable Snowmen? Naturally, that should be the team BioDoc is on. I didn't like his other suggestion, but I didn't see anyone who disliked this one.

I hope we're not ordered by expected contribution to our respective teams. :ninja:

Nice setup, ZipSpeed!
PS3 is good - but does not yield more than 1000 PPD. That may make a difference in the end - I have my PS3 folding too.

On the subject of the PS3 there is no option for a passkey. This is ok for getting credit for the teAm right?

It's QuietDad, not QuiteDad. Lets get the trival points I'll add and let's not have the "How COme YOu Didnt COntribute?" therad. Too much turkey to digest.....

Sorry. Error corrected.

There are no trivial points; only important ones ...
Each point counts - for science and for the race.
Look at the PrimeGrid Calendula race: each WU gives 30K challenge points; the difference between some teams is less than 20000 points ... when the points are counted in millions.

OK, I'll rename the team, which biodoc belongs to. I'll rename the other one too ... for other reasons.
No the expected production is only used to somehow fix the teams ... the production does change a lot during the race - sometimes it is more, sometimes less.

You are free to do whatever you want: crunch, not crunch, more or less, as long as you have fun! :whiste:

OK, I am putting the teams together.
Please check your PPD and the spelling of your name.

PCTC2 ___________ what is your folding name? Have you registered for the TeAm (#198)

I see I remembered as paulnt04. As for my ppd, it should be in 40k toward the end of the first week.

Don't change the team name on my account...I was just trying to add a little holiday humor to the thread. Such a long name makes it difficult for the statsmaster!

We need some more ideas everyone!

How about Santa's reindeer?

Dancers vs Prancers Too feminine?
Dashers vs Blitzens
Comets?

How about Thunder vs Lightning?

EDIT: From the Santa's Reindeer Wiki:

In An American Anthology, 1787–1900, Edmund Clarence Stedman reprints the 1844 Clement Clarke Moore version of the poem, including the German spelling of "Donder and Blitzen," rather than the original 1823 version using the Dutch spelling, "Dunder and Blixem." [4] Both phrases translate as "Thunder and Lightning" in English, though German for thunder is now spelled Donner, and the Dutch words would nowadays be spelled Donder and Bliksem.

While "The Prancers" does have a certain ring to it........... :awe:

Thunder vs Lightning is good.

Another suggestion might be: Genomes vs. Antibodies

I voted!

I''m not even in the race, so you guys need to out-vote me.

Otherwise, you will be known as the Fruit Cakes vs. Egg Nogs.

"Genomes" is for me too similar to Pandegroup's old Genome@home-project...

The FAH Holiday race? Count me in like the last years.

Hmm. I was running my quad-GPU F@H rig just fine last night, I showed it to someone, and then this morning, when I went to move the mouse and wake it up, to shut it down, it wouldn't wake up.

I hope nothing's wrong with it. I hit RESET and it came back up, and all of the GPUs showed up, so that's good. I wonder if I had a power glitch last night, because although I have a beefy UPS, it might not be enough to keep the F@H rig up.

Edit: I started it up again late today, and it was running for a short while, and I left the room. A few hours later, I came back to it and for some reason the screen was on. (In that time, the display should have gone to sleep.) When I went to move the mouse, the mouse pointer was frozen. Aww, shoot. Looks like something's not right here.

Edit: I left it overnight sitting at the desktop, and it wasn't frozen when I went to wake it up this morning. I enabled Prime95/SoB and HFM.net and RivaTuner, basically everything BUT the GPU crunching, and I'm going to test if that freezes it up.

I wonder if the PSU is failing or worn out - it's only been about 2 years.

Edit: I don't think it's the PSU. When my other computer plugged into the VGA port on my monitor went into standby, all of the sudden I got a BSOD, nv4_disp. I freaked out, thinking that my new build had bluescreened, then scratched my head because it doesn't have an NV card in it. Then I realized that was my F@H box plugged into the DVI. So something is freaking out the video driver, or something. I didn't even have any of the GPUs crunching. Just the CPU, which is at stock, running Prime95/SoB. Oh, and RivaTuner running. I wonder if one of my cards is getting flaky.

LOL, being on the "bigfoot" team is probably appropriate for me since I wear a size 15 shoe............ :awe:

I am seeing a lot of movers in the rankings. Pretty awsome when a lot of crunchers come online.............. the winner in this race will be F@H no matter what.

Stability for my i7 950 has passed with flying colors. Once I find some time tonight, hoping to get SMP folding.

Petrusbroder is leaving a comet trail on EOC stats! He's moved up 10+ in the TeAm rankings in a couple of days!

I'm steady as she goes now....MarkFW has been quiet the last couple of days. I'm glad he's on my TeAm!

Choosing my team is tough: I want to be a snowman but also with my TAS friends... hmm...

Assimilator1, too.

If Mark doesn't check in soon, I might abbreviate his username in a way he doesn't like.

Hey, I was the first to mention the holiday race, the first to join, and I asked for several people to be on my team.

I think my 150k ppd average says all I need to.

The last post sid made was back in July. I think our only hope would be for him to have severe withdrawal symptoms................and come back to get his annual fix.
