Techonweb is now OOS of that memory.
I called to verify & was told it'll be 3-4 weeks before they get in another shipment.

I just checked again for kicks & they're back in stock. You don't think they fibbed to me on purpose, do you?
Guess i'll keep checking to see if it'll drop to under $10AR.

Still says "Temp Out" when I checked the page just now.

Dang. My ToW order had shown "shipped," but when I inquired about a tracking number, they informed me it was backordered. Good thing there's no rush on the rebate.

Mine arrived, confirmed that these *DO* have the Micron D9 chips (at least what I received).

Now, to complete that rebate stuff & mail it before I forget ... then start building machines for family/friends.

Thanks again, SerpentRoyal. Good Find!

got all 5 and they are micron d9's. 4 are sequential and the 5th is about 3 places off of the sequence.

btw. what's the trend? are you guys sending 1 rebate claim with multiple serial numbers, or several claims with 1 serial number?

Whatever you do, save copies for yourself. HP rebates have a good reputation, but mistakes do happen.

The rebate form has five spaces for a serial number, so send only one form for up to five. People are using the s/c xxxx number from the dimm label for the serial number, although some say the rebate center doesn't need a serial number ( I filled it out anyway).

Since upc photocopies are ok this time, the easiest method is to photocopy the face of the box, where all those bar codes are. Some people are cutting out the upc's and sending them anyway, but a few get rejections for sending the wrong bar code.

Lots and lots of info on this deal in threads at several sites. The HP ram deal has been on since last may, when it was about $20 AR. I only recently jumped in, at $10.95 with free shipping.

IMO, since there is room for up to 5 serial numbers, it's better to send only one form

The rebate asks for "the original sales receipt". I received no printed receipt, just a packing list. I printed the receipt for my order off the techonweb site. Is this sufficient? what are others using?

Web confirmation with shipping form is fine. You can call the toll free number to confirm.

You can just use one MIR form...right???...It has spots for 5 serial numbers on it...

S/N is on the HP logo at the right of the stick. Write down the number. No need to photocopy. Be sure to include photocopy or original UPC barcode on side of box.

So this is IC stock? Any chance of D9?

No...Crucial Ballistix uses overclocking D9s. These HPs are the value D9s...slower.

Even a "value" D9 is a good quality chip, yes? Or is it worth it to spend the extra $40 or so & pick up a set of Crucial Ballistix?

Of course. Easy 333MHz @ 4-4-4-12-2T/2.0V or 400MHz @ 5-5-5-15-2T/2.0V. That's fast enough to take a 9x multi C2D CPU to 3.6GHz. These JEDEC modules will boot with many boards at default BIOS settings.

No need to go with Crucial B unless you live and die with benchies or plan to oveclock a 45nm quad to 4.0GHz.

8.52 AR plus shipping, and tax for some, from PCUniverse (as mentioned on other deal sites).

http://www.pcuniverse.com/product.asp?pid=3863691

Ground shipping for 5 to PA is 10.94 for a total of 253.54, or 10.71 each after rebate. This is a bit cheaper than my order from Techonweb which went through at 10.95 AR and free shipping. If HP starts another rebate next month I will be buying some more ram.

Running the Micron D9 at 824Mhz with 5-5-5-15-2T timing and 1.8V (mobo doesn't have adjustable voltage). Ran it through SiSoft benchmarks without freezing. Any other easy ways to test it for stability?

Keep checking those three websites listed on my 1st post. $10-$15 per GB for the last month. Would be nice if we see FAR!

Highly doubt it. Ram will always sell!
