Does anyone know if this RAM is can underclock to PC2-3200 speeds (DDR2-400mhz)? I have an older Dimension 8400 that I'd like to upgrade.

On the other hand, I would not mind removing the old RAM and only using the new RAM, but I don't know if the Dell would support it. It is running a Pentium 4 640 (3Ghz, 800mhz FSB, LGA775 Prescott).

By design, it should run at 200MHz speed. The only way to know for sure is to test with your board.

So all four are D9HNL! BTW I ordered these yesterday and got them today (normal shipping). I guess provantage has a local warehouse!!

Micron D9, just like many other sticks. I'd run with two sticks initially to establish the maximum overclock speed, then add the extra RAMs.

IP35-E board arrived today. First O/C results on five sticks: 470, 460, 430, 460, 440 Mhz pass Memtest 86 for at least 30 minutes. Using the normal 1.8 Vdimm, and whatever the default SPD timings are. More testing to be done once an operating system is installed.

Very nice speeds for 333 mhz budget rebate ram.

According to this Eclipse OC Micron D9HNL article, extra voltage doesn't do much except at the looser timings. The reviewer liked the ram, Crucial PC5300 2x1GB that cost $120, saying "...the performance provided by this kit is within a few % of kits that cost twice as much, or more. If you're not planning on seriously overclocking, but would like a bit of headroom over stock, it would be hard to go wrong here.".

Got the IP35-E and D9 sticks today. Am having some boot issues at the moment and I don't know what it is, just freezes at different places before windows. More testing.

Go to MB forum and check out my 1st post. Follow instruction at the bottom to set up PC. Always zero fill a used HDD. Problem could also be PSU.

Go to the HDD's mfr website. There should be a utility to zero fill the HDD.

1T will work but you'll won't be able to overclock as far as 2T. Intel chips don't care much about 1T/2T.

got my pair today, runs 667 4-4-4-12 @1.9v. bet i could push 800 C4 @ 2.1, i just bought them as temps so i could rma my corsair set because one of them died and my brothers PC was surviving on the only working stick but i have to rma the pair, but i was pleasantly surprised that they're not half bad. I'm in for another pair, hope they run this rebate again after it ends this month so i can get another 4GB.

You don't want to push more than 2.0V with these chips. Easy 400MHz with 2.0V/5-5-5-15-2T.

My FedEx package containing my order was stolen yesterday. I noticed some maintenance (plumbing) workers at my neighbors yesterday morning and I have a feeling one of them probably took it. FedEx website says it was delivered at around 1:00pm yesterday but when I got home there was no package. This is the first time something like this has happened to me.

I'm out $200. Is there anyway I can still get the rebates so I will only be out $40 instead?
