Due to the location, the impact may be less severe.

More land masses to disrupt the water momentum

Uh, momentum begins at the source.

The earthquake was located to the WSW of the Phillipines (Mindanao). Land masses between the epicenter, Alaska, and the West Coast, as well as the distance involved, will help to reduce or dissipate any potential tsunami energy.

There are no land masses between the epicenter and North / South America.

Are you referring to the Hawaiian Islands?

WTF?

EVALUATION
BASED ON LOCATION AND MAGNITUDE THE EARTHQUAKE WAS NOT
SUFFICIENT TO GENERATE A TSUNAMI DAMAGING TO CALIFORNIA -
OREGON - WASHINGTON - BRITISH COLUMBIA OR ALASKA. SOME AREAS MAY
EXPERIENCE SMALL SEA LEVEL CHANGES. IN AREAS OF INTENSE
SHAKING LOCALLY GENERATED TSUNAMIS CAN BE TRIGGERED BY SLUMPING.

What "Land Masses" are you talking about?

Atlantis?

The Phillipines themselves. They are in between the US and the epicenter. Click on the globe in the link and it's pretty evident.

Yes, but where in the report does it say that this is a factor?

Magnitude, yes, but the idea of "land Masses" "blocking" a tsunami?

And a tsunami is nothing but waves of energy propagating through water. Land masses and even subsurface features and sea floor level variations will have an effect of disrupting and weakening those energy waves over a distance.
