I took 5 senior, 3 junior, and one sophomore. I had no trouble handling them (and made mostly 5s on the exams, with the exception of two 4s and a 3--and made all high As in the courses), and as long as you do your work, I doubt it will be too difficult. And I didn't spend too much time on the work in those courses, but I may just be an exception (or my school is an exception).

Again, it's really relative to what school you attend and how hard it is--or how well you work.

If you did poorly in Pre-Calc, why would you take AP Calculus and Statistics??

Because I have no other classes to take.

If you didn't do well in Pre-calc and plan on taking AP Calc I wouldn't suggest taking the actual AP test.. I've heard my friends say it was one of the more difficult of the AP tests. I took it a year early got a 5, but math has been my strong point for my entire life. I took the AP stats test and wound up with a 3.. not sure if it was just hard or the fact that my class was kinda a joke.. either way.. my advice.

That is a pretty standard load at the school I went too - but you didn't have a choice. All that was offered was AP classes.

If you know how to study, it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, in my area anyway. Too many kids that don't care. Teacher relocation, budget cuts, the whole 9-yards. And then some.

Let's see, last year (senior year in HS) I took:
AP Biology
AP English
AP Calculus
AP Modern European History
AP Spanish
and then two half credit courses.

Not that bad at all, IMO... still had plenty of time each night and on weekends to fool around, and for those that are going to say I did poorly. I recieved no lower than a B+ in all those courses.

A friend of mine did that her senior year. She pretty much dropped off the face of the earth that year. :-/

What do you mean by that?

Meaning she ceased to have any kind of meaningful social life. Kiss all of your fun time goodbye, as you'll be spending it assholes and elbows in your books. If you're really dedicated and serious, that is.

Yep, pretty much.

I took 4 this last year, and I have to say, the only one I really worked in was English. 5 page papers every week or two, always reading something, and a 17 page midterm. But Comp Sci was a joke, I stopped looking at my Econ textbook by the second quarter, and I never started looking at my Calc text out of class. If you can do well just by paying attention in class, like I do, then it's no harder than a regular class.

its a waste of time. why don't you take some classes you want to take? your first semester senior year really isn't gonna affect your college decisions. whats done is done

Every AP class is worth it if you can handle the pressure. Taking those classes helped me get out of a year of Calc in college. Definately worth the pain I went through with BC Calc.

It all depends on the AP.
As long as you are good at French and English, their APs shouldn't be too hard. Stats is pretty easy, we didn't even have normal stats, just AP stats. I know econ is a bitch, but at my school the classes were harder than the test so your experiences may vary (final paper was 50pages+). AB Calc is a breeze. AP bio, well, if you've had bio before it helps, otherwise you're looking at a lot of reading/memorizing.

That schedule looks doable. At least at my school it would be (the way the classes are)... I think it depends more on how hard your school makes each class. I took 5 ap classes and an IB class last year and I did okay.

I knew some people that took 6 probably... I'm sure their schedule worked out that way...

I did history and chemistry my junior year and english, US government, and calculus my senior year. The only time I felt overloaded was for about two or three weeks before the tests when all I did was pour over my old material. I got a 5 in US history and 4's on the rest. Can't say I can complain about that.

I breezed through 3 AP's my Junior year and got straight A's my Senior year taking 5 AP's, but the students at my school were mostly morons and some of the teachers were a joke. I think if you went to a really compeditive high school with demanding teachers then 5-6 AP's would definetely be a bit much.

What'd you get on the tests?

Yes it's too much if your school's teachers are in any way competent OR if you plan on taking all six tests. If you only plan on taking two or three tests OR your school's teachers are relatively incompetent, go for it. I'm expecting to hear from you in six months on how you're going insane with the heavy workload though.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I did struggle with the workload this year, but I usually cuss and spit profanity and listen to heavy rock before I start my homework and study to pump myself up.

If you're going to take all 6, say goodbye to ATOT.
