Thanks for the info wesbc , followed the instructions you provided , and it looks like
NO DAZZLE for me.
Since I haven't ordered from Dell till this order , I'v got NOTHING in my " order history "
not even the dazzle reader...
The ONLY place that it shows up is in , " Order STATUS ".
and even there it shows up as a " Pending Order ".
with a ship date of 3/15/02.

Looks like I've got NO WAY to Prove I bought it by the 28th.
OH WELL......
Thanks to some info provided by Justincase , ( thank you for the link ),
I realize now that I've delt with these rebate " Clowns " before.
They don't have that good a track record with me, I've had to call and hassle to get rebates from them.
And there are STILL some I haven't received.

Looks like I'll have to call dell and see what they have to say about their , lack of stock , slow shipping ,
ect., costing me my rebate.
MAYBE ? ( I doubt it, but I've gotta try ) , they will knock $20.00 off the price for me , since I can't get the rebate.

a lady from dell kalled me today and told me that my dazzle reader would be ship out by 3-19-02.

Your Order History might not show up until the item has been shiped to you.

The instruction I've given was for those who did no print their screen during their order. My packing slips only had the date of 3/5 but in the order history, it does show my order date. So check back once you have received your item.

Just wondering,

Is this reader also a writer? I just got it last week and tried it with my memory sticks but it wouldn't allow me to delete or write anything to the memory stick. I can copy files from the memory stick to the computer but not the other way around.

You guys will not believe this, after receiving 2 generic calls from Dell customer service stating this item is on back order and don't expect it to ship until early April ... I just checked my CitiBank credit card statement online and I was charged $40 from Dell, then I checked my Dell Order Status and it shows my card reader was shipped 3/19 WITH a tracking number. So I should have it by next week.

This is good, right?

Got mine a few days ago, and I see now that the UPC#'s
DON"T match the rebate offer.
The last 6 digits are different.

The rebate offer says DM8400 upc 740853-67226-8
And the upc on the box is DM8400 upc 740853-91416-0

Hope this dosn't create more problems with these idiots....

Already looks like I've got one with my CenDyne rebate that I just sent in.
( supposed to be $40.00 and they say $20.00 ):disgust:
now I gotta go find that thread.

It's probably just a Dell thing...I got mine from another vendor and the UPC was the same as on the rebate form. Ordered Thursday, got it Monday.

I haven't called , I didn't want to bring to much attention to this with a flood of calls.

ALSO , don't forget the Rebate , MUST BE POSTMARKED.

BY 3/31/02 , so it has to be in the PO by SAT.

Just remove the UPC code. It is a sticker that covers the original UPC. Mine just came right off.

mine upc kode also does match the one on the rebate form. anyone call dazzle up regarding the different in upc number yet?? better hurry, since we only have a couple of days to postmark the rebate.

I haven't had a chance to call about the rebate yet. There's a good chance I'll call them tomorrow though.

Either way I'll post here on what I find out. "Just in case" they won't honor our rebate because of the discrepency in UPC numbers I haven't opened my package yet.
