Yeah, its called dry or naked DSL
I get no love because my main usage is at my business - not residential, and they know that account is in an industrial building.
So the best price I can get for express (1.5 max) is $60 without analogue. They never seem to have deals for business lines.
Its actually a bit cheaper to just keep the phone active
They aint stupid, they know a lot of people can get away with just cellphone, and dry DSL
My CO distance is 17,020 ft, so I cant even use pro or elite - wont synchronize
I get ~ 1.3 after overhead, and thats it, end of story
Looking at little online HD videos, I'm buffering all the time.
No FIOS avail
So, I am basically stuck with the old ATT monopoly and their 60 year old copper cables. If I want better, i have to move - heh.

Anyone else confirm that as an existing customer you were able to change your package to this? I am also being told that the DSL Direct naming is for their U-verse offerings and the DSL Extreme (which is what I have) is for those that cannot get U-verse.

I can get the 6mbps $20/month deal AND the $100 cash card since I will be switching from cable. I just need to wait for my wife to get home to make sure she is ok with saving $22/month. We are currently with Earthlink Cable (Time Warner) and pay the $42.99/month(but NO additional taxes or fee's like dsl will have). We currently have the 7mbps(Download)/384kbps(Upload) package. I'm sure my wife will be more than happy to sacrifice 1mpbs download for double the upload speed. She is HUGE in the bit-torrent world and always complain about the slow upload. So the higher upload speed should calm her down alittle. I just hope att will be ok with up to 150-250 GB usage each month...

I was told my location only gets U-verse which uses their fiber optics line, and that DSL is not available in my neighborhood. Luckily the CSR agreed to reduce the price I'm paying to $20 anyways, but kind of pisses me off knowing there's a great fiberoptics network in my neighborhood but I get speeds equal to or slower(3.0Mbps) than traditional DSL for a higher price.

Please tell your neighbors to sign up for FIOS as well!!! Their low penetration rate ~25% was why they say they aren't expanding. FIOS is so damn ridiculously awesome I don't know why people don't sign up for it. I think I saw their HD TV package with 200-300 channels + unlimited phone VOIP + 35/35 internet for like 120-130 a month. They also have cheaper packages that run like ~70-100 that has a bit less internet speed. Comcrap is $110 for a very mediocre 60 crappy channels + unlimited phone + 6/874 internet.

Most of homes cant even have speed they advertise b/c the phone lines are so old and dirty. Best speed I got was 500kbs when I had at&t so I dump it.
