Lu Di, 6, flexes his muscles as other young kungfu students watch at a kungfu school in Central China's Henan Province July 26, 2006. According to school president Shi Yongdi, Lu did 10,000 pushups in three hours and twenty minutes four days ago. Since he shows so much promise, Shi says the school will waive his tuition for ten years.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Probably a translation gone wrong. I got the text from another source, but it was another forum post so I looked for a link. That's the best I can find.

Well, when we use the "in a single breath" phrase in Chinese, usually it means to just get it done all at once or in one shot. Not literally one breath.

Nahh, no fing way.

He's 6 years old. I don't know how it works over in that country, but I doubt they hit puberty at 6 years old. There are certain limiting factors when you get older which would definitely lower the amount of pushups he can do, but still, at 10,000, it's incredibly amazing.

I reckon if you can do 500 or 1,000 you can do 10,000. There's a point where you can just keep going, like running or swimming - you can do it for hours if you're really fit.

I for one, call bs. I'd like to see anyone do 10,000 squats carrying no weights. You work out those muscles every day and probably couldn't do 10,000.

Yeah, while somehow possible, it is not like running, as for pushups to become an aerobic exercise, they would have to be trained for pretty much ever, and with 6 years experience...

haha like "wan wan" ? then yes it would. That literally means ten thousand ten thousand. But in chinese movies and such they say stuf like "May the king live 'wan wan' years"
