You have to go thru the whole configuration process and they take off the $250 towards the end. Too bad they yanked the free 2nd HD, else I'd be breaking out the CC right now.

I was going to post this deal about 2 hrs about but got sidetracked. Anyway, this deal ain't dead yet. For those who can't figure out how to configure one of these systems, or for those too lazy to do so...

No you can't... this uses ECC DDR...

Though, with that said, you can get a 256meg chip directly from Dell S&P for $54 (After 15% off Dell Peripherals discounts going on right now) or a 512 stick for $142.

I just placed my order. The way I look at it, the cheapest P4 2.4GHz chip is ~$145. That would leave $145 to get a 40GB drive, a motherboard (not to mention a ServerWorks board with a GigE NIC and 4 64-bit PCI slots), ram, and a case. Thats impossible. It'll make an excellent multi-purpose server for the house....
