Nope, it won't. You must be repeating what you heard from another Dell hater! In reality, it's not the underside but the top of the case under one palm that gets slightly, but not uncomfortably, warm from extended use of the hard drive. Ask anyone that owns one.
I like Fujitsu a lot myself. In my opinion, the S6220 would be the laptop to buy, no contest, if it just had a decent dedciated graphics card. I'm holding out until next year, which will bring goodies like dual-core processors and upgradable graphics to the laptop-toting masses. Then I'll buy the successor to the S6000, whatever that may be, with a decent graphics card. I can't wait...
I'm surprised, incidentally, that there aren't more laptops offering a 13.3" screen size. It's really an awesome size for XGA, just big enough to be comfortable and allow for a nice-sized keyboard.
