I've been reading through the forums on this to try and figure out if this is enough and I can't find this specifically.
I have the following:
Desktop: 4400+ AMD Venice
A8N SLI
2 gigs of ram Kingston
250 Gig WD Sata 2 HDD
2 DVD drives
2x BFG 8800 GTS OC in SLI
X-fi Music
600 Watt Power supply Enermax.

I have everything at stock speeds and am experiencing all sorts of stability issues with Team Fortress 2. I realise that it's just the beta, but guys I've been playing with on line seemed to think that my power supply was not enough. Could anyone tell me on this?

thanks in advance.

Is this in the wrong forum? Is this a dumb question, as I've seen other questions in here on the same similar sort of topic. Just wondering why no replies, thanks.

Well what model PSU is it? The PSu might not have enough power for the system but as you said the game is a Beta so it may just be the game. Are you haveing any other trouble with any other game? If not then i think is just the game.

If you're running 2 8800GTS cards I'd say you need a lot more 12v juice then that Enermax can pump out. Seriously dude, I wouldn't be using anything less than a 700-750w psu on that system. I could give you some recommendations if you'd like. OCZ and Tagan are two of my favorite brands.

are you crazy??? unless that is a very cheap enermax he has more than enough juice for that setup. If he's running over 500 w at absolute max load I'll be shocked.

btw, what's a 4400+ venice? do you mean it's a 3400+ venice or a 4400+ toledo?

even JonnyGURU has stated on his fporums that with dual 8800`s and the rest of the hardware people use on there computers 700watts is not ubreasonable!!

So go figure....
What I will say is you cannot go wrong with a quality 700 watts PSU!!!

you seriously think that he needs a 700w psu for THAT system? he doesn't have an overclocked quad, he has a 3400 venice, or, at most, a 4400 x2. neither of those is particularly taxing, nor is 2 8800 gts's in sli. he's probably going to be closer to 400w than 500w.

you see what i find interesting is that there is a segment of pople who actually honestly will sit down and tell you that there is such a thing as too much.
But is there really such a thing a thing as too much?
Especially when we take into account future proofing along with build quality and even efficiency ratings?

When peopl talk about PSU`s it all boils own to personnal opinion and preferences regardless of what others think...
Also mind you that most 400 watt or even 500watt PSU`s are not even going to be able to pump out the proper amps needed on the 12v rail....

So YES I would tend to agr with what mervin338 said---

thank you both for your info, I'll fix my sig, you're right it should read 4400 x2... I intend to upgrade to a quad core anyway so maybe I need more juice, although I was hoping that I wouldn't have to. If I simply upgraded to an intel Q6600 for CPU what would the suggested PSU look like, brand and all? I have traditionally gone Enermax, but I can switch if the general feeling is that Enermax is no longer solid.
