While we're on this subject, WTF is it with the Audi LEDs turning completely off on the side your turn signal is on? That looks retarded. Especially if you're sitting at a stop light waiting to make a turn... it looks like your $50k car (and it's fancy trademark LEDs) is busted. Tell me there's an option to keep them on all the time... and those people are just retarded for not finding it.

Um, no it doesn't.

It turns off because you can then notice the turn signal lights.

I find this to be one of the 5's more cool features.

Alright, where to start -

Looks like the primary contenders are the CTS-V, BMW-Variants, Jaguar XF, Audi S4/S5, and the Murder CLS550.

Howard - Just have to say that you are a bad ass poster.

MikeMike - Keen observation on the direction of this apparently explosive thread.

jlee - Corvette sedan would be bad ass, but the interior would look more like a PowerWheels interior, read: plastic, than a luxury interior.

slashbin - The Lexus LS430 is a nice car and I really appreciated the styling when it was introduced. Unfortunately, it looks a tad too pedestrian now. Too old person for me.

Jules - I agree that the CLS550 is an amazing bad ass sedan. Unfortunately, most of the available specimen are closer to $80,000. Add in the fact that the CLS550 is being completely reworked for 2011!

MJinZ - I am amazed that you are still in the thread. Posting. I do appreciate the debate it has stirred up regarding the cars though - lots of good information has resulted.

Well there were some serious baiting and I love a good game of go-fish.

And you've been filleted five times over and you don't realize it. This thread is laughing at you, not with you.

Only you don't perhaps realize that my opinion doesn't need to smell good for YOU or the forums.

Elise is WEAK SAUCE. Michelin > Others.

Hey, what's the I hear? Distant sobs? Boohoohooohooo

Here's a recap on this thread for those just joining in:

1. The Elises whole claim to fame is it's light, whoopdeedoo
2. The Elise is underpowered
3. The base CTS is too heavy, when it's really within a couple percent of it's competition
4. The CTS-V is overpowered with that dumb Corvette engine

And then this happened

Your attempt to pass off your failure as mere trolling fails miserably. But hey, care for a cigarette?

I've seen pics of the new CLS, and honestly, it doesn't do much for me. The current CLS550 still captures my gaze every time and you can find many low mileage pre-owned models for tens of thousands of dollars less than a new one costs. I test drove a CPO 2007 CLS550 just a few months ago with a hair over 30,000 miles on it and they were asking mid $30k for it. It still had factory warranty on it.

As a Nissan fan I love the new M56 but if it was my money I would probably lean towards the CTS-V.

It's more a safety feature so that the turn signal is easy to see. Honestly, I could see myself being seduced by the LEDs and not notice a blinker behind them. Kinda like beer goggles

Wow. I'll have to dig a bit deeper.

Btw Jules, nice running into you during my (probably brief) return to AT posting.

Meh, CLS is nice and all but I think it's beginning to look dated. A fair number of them out there as well. I see far fewer Jag Xf's, and I believe the rear seat room is probably roomier. Only problem is it seems the Xf's suffer from some potential electrical gremlins.

OP, a big-ticket expenditure like a car that will depreciate like a rock thrown through whipped cream on on HOT Texas afternoon ... and did I say in this HORRIBLE economy is the best thing you could possibly do in this economy!

NOT!

I could realistically afford any of the cars noted within this thread ... but it would be better for my bottom line to start a home for wayward 18 year-old girls before I dropped even half of the money on ANY car listed within this thread.

I am not a Lifer here on AT but I call shens ... whatever that means.

I do think they look dated due to the new C class being recently updated and looking good
