640 Prescott versus 641 Cedar Mill ?

A review stated; Runs really cool! Takes full advantage of 667mhz DDR2 and 975x
chipset unlike it's couisin the Intel Pentium 640. I wonder if he is just talking about the
heat issue or does he know something I don't? He listed my current system. Kind-of
waiting on Conroe and maybe using the 640 in another computer but his statement has
me curious. Anyone have any feedback that would help?

I have bulit 2 P4 systems recently.
In 1 I used a 630, and the other I used a 641.
I could not believe how cool the 641 ran.
I remeber one time the system had been on for about an hour, and it reported 14C for about 10 sec. :Q
The benchmarks were right inline, nothing special.

Yeah, I think there is something fishy with the thermal sensor on the 65nm netburst chips, my idle temps on my 920 are below ambient temps..I"m sorry but my water cooling isn't THAT good..18c idle?? yeah right!

That was with the stock cooler, and in a MATX case to boot.
I bet your right, If it sounds to good to be true...

well the cooling issue must be the biggest difference .
iam using the 630 , and believe me it hot like hell .
goes from idle 49C to Load 62C .
