I think this is the cheapest this has been by a slight bit. 3% rewards if you have a chase amazon card too so effectively another $3.50 off.

The 96GB is also on sale with a $60 rebate making it $95... which is also a good deal (though its been slightly cheaper a few times at newegg with codes)

seems reliable and its plenty fast for an SSD. should be a decent amount of space for an OS drive for most people. if you have a giant steam folder or something then maybe not. . just disable hibernate, and either move your page file to a hard drive, or just buy more ram at $50 for 8gb these days and turn off paging. probably will save you 8GB of space....

also i do not get the whole , you have to get a C400 / sanforce 2nd gen etc logic. you can't even tell the difference unless you run iometer or some ssd bench program.

i have had a C300 and tried it out and a couple sandforce drives, cant tell the difference as far as seat of the pants ness.
the machine i'm typing this on has this exact drive on it. probably more reliable than the adata sandforce one i had that would randomly blue screen after resuming from sleep.

Picked this up when it was like $65AR about a month ago on Newegg.

So far, so good. I have it in my laptop, which I don't game on much, and it does exactly what I wanted it to - boot up and shut down very quickly, and be ready to go as soon as it hits the desktop. With the mechanical drive, it took a few seconds as background programs loaded, but the SSD loads everything instantly.

In day to day desktop use, I honestly cannot tell a difference between the 64GB Kingston, a 32GB Zalman in my HTPC (JMicron controller), and the 120GB Intel X-25M G2 in my desktop. If I benchmark them, the results are slightly different, but all are very fast for normal desktop use.

the 128gb is about the same(~160) on newegg as a daily deal today

so thats obviously the better deal at that size

i paid about 115 for my 96gb of these off newegg a few months ago, pretty decent drive

been running these 64/96/128 since they started being $1gb ar... plenty fast as os drives, put steam on an hdd... no failures yet...

can't see doing a build any more without one of these... takes too long to boot, makes whole pc seem sluggish...

huh? the SSDNow V+100 96 GB is 155 out the door (well ~168 after taxes for me) with a 60mir to bring it down to 95 (105ish for me) so yes it is 100.....

the newegg is also just a plain V100 (not a +) and is 160 after mir (out the door is still 220)

So to me at least the 96gb is the way to go and what i ordered.

I have my HTPC setup that way with games on an iSCSI LUN off of a 5400RPM drive. It's horrid for initial startup on the Lego games my son plays, a little irritating for starting GH3, and otherwise unnoticeable for those games (level loads are not impacted).

I have a 96GB Kingston SSD in my main PC with no other drives in it. I only keep Win7, Office and a few games loaded on it at a time. When I'm done with a game I can uninstall and it and install another. I think I have 3 games on there right now with 40GB of free space. I do have a WHS box with all of my media and backups.

Agreed. That's why I bought this drive. $85AR didn't hurt, either. Liking it so far.

The V+ 100 is the perfect drive to do this with, too, because it has super-aggressive garbage collection that doesn't need TRIM.

I first bought a 64GB version of this drive a couple months ago, and have been very pleased with it so far. I've since put that 64GB into a build for my stepdad, as I picked up the 96GB for around $85 after rebate. I'm currently using that 96GB on the machine I'm using now, which is my main/only machine, and I'm very happy with that purchase as well.
