64MB Toshiba MP3 player $89 after MIR and coupon @ Buy.com - 10/29 only

Buy.com has the 64MB Toshiba MP3 player on price mistake of the day for $99 after rebate and price drop. Go to your favorite tech bargin website and use the $10 off $100 coupon to drop it to $89. It worked out to $100.44 shiped to OR for me. The rebate is only good on Buy.com so it won't be possible to do any PMs with other stores. This is a pretty hot deal considering the cheapest I could find it at the no-name retailers on yahoo shopping is $134. The only bad part is that it takes expensive SD memory.

Ugh. Not to thread crap, but I have to warn my fellow Hot Deal seekers about this player.

While it is VERY small and kind of cool-looking, it is secure digital compliant, which means that you can only use the included software to transfer files to and from the player, and you can only install the software on one machine (you have to have the player attached to the computer during the install - it uses it like a hardware "key"). This might not be too bad for some users, except that the included software is awful.

I sold this player three days after buying it. Look elsewhere.

If you want a cheap one that takes CF try the RCA Kazoo, Target has it for $100 - $20 coupon

I don't know how good it is but it looks cool.

The Kazoo at Target is only 32MB. Still not bad if you have some spare CF cards laying around. For a better deal check out this thread o on a 64MB Samsung that takes Smartmedia. Another MP3 deal
